  i want to remap my vw golf gttdi mk 4 but on all these forums all i here is slipping clutches ,could anyone please give me advice.ive heard its all to do with the way you drive but are the remap tolerances in general clutch harming ? thanks chatty

  I bought this escort 1.6 si " n " reg  as a non runner due to water pump & thermostat needed changing, i have replaced the water pump, cam belt, drive belt, spark plugs, made sure the engine was in line for tdc properly but it will not start, it is a low miliege car with 68,000 very genuine miles and owned by an old dear from new. any help on this would be much appreciated ?

  Hi, all havnt been here for a while...anyway, my friend has an "09" astra sxi. I drive the same only 2 years older..her car is still under warranty ..the washer spindle has broken,according to her dealer due to adverse weather conditions..should this be covered under warranty....help appeciated...

  Hi, has anyone used "snow socks" for winter driving in the UK? If so, how did you get on with them? I'm thinking of getting some to keep in the boot as a "get me home" measure in the case of unexpected snow / ice. For a RWD car do I need 2 pairs, or just 1 pair for the rear wheels?

  morning - someone i work with has epileptic and diabetic fits, should the dvla be informed?? i thought you had to be "fit" free for a certain amount of time before you could drive again?? my big concern is if he fits while in control of his car he or someone else could be injured or killed. can anyone tell me if there is anyway to inform the dvla or find out what the law is on this?

  I want to buy a set of extra rims to fit with winter tyres, but alloys are prohibitively expensive so am contemplating buying steel rims. If I buy 16" rims, what size tyres do I need and would the new combination affect driving characteristics/handling? All advice appreciated.

  A question ot two:- *   Do I have to buy the full MS 7 HP package or the MS 7 HP upgrade? *  I assume all I need do is drop the MS 7 onto the Vista without reformatting any drive? *  Is it simple for a non- techie to carry out? Many thanks for any advice offered.

  The owners manual states that the cam timing belt is due fo replacement at 75,000 miles. Is it safe to drive another 5,000 miles before having it changed or should I err on the side of caution and change it early. It's the same MZR-CD RF engine as in other Mazda cars. Thanks in advance, Chris

  I have the following problem with my 55reg (2006 model) Mitsubishi Grandis 2.0 diesel (VW engine): It starts fine in the mornings.  When I drive it a little, then stop and try to start again after a few minutes the engine starts but then stops again straight away.  After up to 10 attempts it starts fine.  Sometimes it helps to lock/unlock the car.

  Hi guys and Gals I have a pug 406 diesel 1999, it has been sat for a while and starts first time, idles forever on the drive, once you take it on a run (over about 5 miles) and turn off the engine, it will not start again for about 30 minutes, really odd, any ideas??

  Seemed simple enough, they are both on the same fuse. Replaced the fuse and sidelights now ok but not heater controls. and as you drive the horn intermittently sounds until the fuse goes again. Any ideas??

    Can anyone give me more info on this?  It was last changed in 2003 and has done 41,000 miles since.  we are driving to southern Spain in June, and feel it might be a good idea to change it, but only if we have to! thanks Dave Ambrose

  hi i have aproblem with my c5, it pulls to the left when driving. i have had the tracking and wheel balancing done. last week and it still pulls to the left. any ideas would be much appreciated also the engine cover of my 2.0hdi 2003 reg is missing anyone got one they dont need or know of a supplier?

  The handbrake warning light on my 2001 Punto intermittantly comes one whilst driving. This tends to happen particularly whilst going up or down hills, but can come on randomly whilst in motion. I'm confident that the handbrake is not actually being applied, so I'm assuming this to be electrical issue.

  Need some help urgently.  My car switches off after about 15 mins driving with aircon.   When I switch off the aircon and rev it on the first three gears, the idle is back to normal. Also need some help to find an appropriate vag cable for that model. Please help!

  I am c onsidering buying the 1.2 12v model, the car drives nice apart from a knocking ball joint and the anti roll bar bushes are shot. Is there anything else I should watch? The mileage is 90k and seems mechanically perfect( am I right in assuming this model has a camchain?).....
