How many jobs have been created in Europe as a result of Far Eastern companies investing over here?

If it wasn't for Nissan, Toyota, Honda, a lot of people in Britain would be out of a job

Hyundai ix 35 cassa white all packs - where is my car rrrggghhhh - Collos25

Actually more people these companies only assemble cars her all the proper engineering is done in the far east. When they built the Toyata factory in the UK the local council built an industrial estate thinking that Toyota would source many parts and service locally not one place was taken up.I agree the UK motor manufacturer shot themselves in the foot but I would sooner have Euro goods than rubbish far east products.

Look at any street when a far east motor is a few years old it has no value or credibility its basically scrap when you walk pass an older German car you still look and think thats ok and its still worth money.Having had a new Kia on rent over the last few weeks while my BMW was in the paint shop I can only conclude some people are easily pleased.

Lols! Such an old fashioned deluded post that I thought it was a spoof. Then he spoiled it all by owning up to driving a BMW !

Probably also thinks that the Japanese should stick to making scooters!

I do not think the Japanese should stick to making scooters but people should think before buying rubbish from Hyundai and its partners who do you think pays for all these imports its normal working people with their jobs a lot of products we have little choice but with cars there are far better european products available. What me driving a BMW is to do with it I don't know or are one of the people that have a grudge against people who drive well made european cars.

You'll find the the IX35 is built in europe. If we use the same argument how many parts in a BMW are manufactured in Europe (not just assembled)? Do you know? How many in the IX35 are? I don't know the answer to either but i'm not kicking off how someone else chooses to spend their money.

As to the original poster.

My local dealer has a used IX35 in casa white (4wd) with 1 owner at above list price at the moment due to the demand and difficulty in sourcing new ones (especially white).

Other info i thought you might be interested in:-

The list price of the IX35 is due to go up £700 2wd and £1000 4wd as of the 1st of November (So i'm told).

On the face of it i assume this is to align the vehicle more with the Kia sportage pricing (but that is just my asumption).

If you really can't wait then autotrader and hyundaiapproved do show a few (new or 1 owner) vehicles kicking about if you are flexible in terms of what you want but not many have the "individual" pack on them.

I obviously have no idea what deal you negotiated with the dealer but if you are prepared to ring round / travel there are a few out there to be had.

Before anyone asks:- I don't work for hyundai, i'm just looking at the IX35, sportage, Kuga and Qashqai because one of those is how i think i want to spend my money next :-)

Very interesting about the prices for used examples.
I wonder how much I'd get for my 6 month old diesel premium in white with 7k miles?
I've already got a juke on order for the wife, and really fancy a turbo one for myself....

Andy Bairsto, you really are an arrogant person. For the record i have an ix35 premium 4wd in white, it drives and looks ten times better than the 2 year old 1 series bmw i traded it in for. Hyundai are a big player now and have some great cars on the road and about four new models due next year . Its very insulting when a car people have paid in excess of £22k for is called rubbish. I bet you drive a £500 Knacker. It seems you have a vendetta against anything not built by brits. I've owned enough german cars, and many others to give an accurate opinion of what quality is. karl.

AB,

The standard of your English is comparable to your knowledge of cars.

Your little “look at any street” scenario where you compare German cars to “far east motor” only goes on in your head or that of someone who is as unintelligent as you are.

Congratulations on bettering yourself and getting that 3 series you strived for.

What me driving a BMW is to do with it I don't know

It wasn't the OP who introduced the subject of BMWs, or expressed any opinions about any other brand.

Some people have a prejudice against Far Eastern cars, some people have a prejudice against BMWs. Nobody is right, nobody is wrong, they are entitled to their own opinion.

one of the people that have a grudge against people who drive well made european cars.

as opposed to someone who has a grudge against Far Eastern cars

This thread isn't getting anywhere, so I'm closing it.

There's an existing, long-running thread on delivery delays and another on first impression of those who have been lucky and got theirs. So far, mercifully, the standard of debate has been higher than on this thread.
