Any/Any - Disappearing tax (VED!) disc implications 5 Jun 2014 (Forum)
A sneaky stealth tax or is the system going to be cleverer than that? Perhaps the new system will no longer run in complete months but will go from date to date? Does anyone know how it’ll work from October? -
BMW 3 Series E46 320d SE - Diesel Contaminated with petrol from Morrisons 2 Apr 2014 (Forum)
I was wondering if anyone had had any problems with diesel fuel from a Morrisons filing station? My car was nearly empty and running fine. I filled to the brim £76.23 on 8th March, I have the receipt stating 'Diesel'. 2 days later my car started to misfire badly, I couldn't get it to a garage within 2 days and I was going away for a week after that, so 2 weeks elapsed between me filling and the garage telling me I had petrol in my fuel tank and a lot of damage had been done. -

New Audi A3 - Electric Handbrake 30 Oct 2013 (Forum)
My question is to any drivers who own an Audi with an electric handbrake are these electric handbrakes reliable and maintenance free as I have read some worrying reviews about burnt out clutches and cars running down hills when parked and if they are perfectly o.k. is it just a case of getting used to them. -

Vauxhall Zafira B (2005 - ) - 08 1.8 Delayed throttle response 15 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Worst of all is changing up gears; this causes the engine rpm to momentarily increase when the clutch is depressed. The car starts, idles and runs well other than the above problem. I understand this is a full 'fly by wire' system where the throttle plate is motorised from the ECU. Could this problem be software related, electrical or dirty/gummed-up throttle body? -

opel astra 1.3cdti - Squeeling noise 20 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Hi a noise came into the engine of my astra .I thought that the drivebelt wwas slipping but changed that .Then i checked all pullies worked by the drive belt.I took off the belt and ran the engine but the squeeling noise was still there .The noise was coming from the oil fliter/turbo area .I contacted the main opel dealer and they told me it sounded like the turbo was the fault.I got a local mechenic who said it was the vaccum control valve connected to the turbo or the turbo its self .I got it run through a dionostics test and the guy said it was showing air pressure drops and it was the turbo.I replaced the turbo vaccum valve changed the oil and filters checked feed pipes etc made sure everything was spot on .But when i started the van the squeeling noise was still there just as bad .Anyone have any ideas ? -

Toyota RAV 4; 2004 2 ltr Petrol - Mystery oil leak after frontal shunt 7 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Vehicle trucked to insurer's repairers who simply cannot trace the oil leak. Oil was 1/2 full on dipstick, but car serviced 8 weeks earlier. Engine steam cleaned and test run but still no signs of leak. Compression test OK so not head gasket. No oil pump as petrol. Repairers expect me to take back the vehicle and hope for the best, but once I sign off the repair as OK then if the leak recurs I will be responsible. -

Ford s max - White smoke and rough idle on first start 20 Apr 2013 (Forum)
On all occasions, the rough idling stops first and then the white smoke and once this has happened the car runs absolutely fine with no pulling/jerking. The water levels are not moving, oil is clean and doesn't over heat. The engine does sound louder until it has warmed also. Any ideas/pointer would be gratefully received. -
Mercedes S Class 320 CDI 2009 99000 miles - Diesel Particulates Filter blocked 16 Feb 2013 (Forum)
I should add that the limp mode and warning light has been a constant problem since the car was in warranty but not at the same time. The light disappeared after a few runs and the limp mode after every restart, The sealer replaced a crankshaft sensor under warranty to cure the problem which it did temporarily. Does anyone have any similar experiences with the 320 cdi engine and can anyone suggest a cheaper course of action -

I have replaced the Lower arms and bushes, the struts, top mounts, droplinks, a drumstick, and have disconnected the anti roll bar and have proven it's not that either. Running out of options now!! What on earth is causing this noise? The only thing left to test is the steering rack - could it be this?? Thanks all.
