Liverpool to Rome - the options 29 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I don't mind as Dad and I will share the driving but we could do with some advice on destinations to stop pver, general routes to take. The original plan was to boat it to Spain (Santander to be precise) and drive from there, to Italy. Dad does the same on his Motorbike but goes around Spain instead of Italy. My question is what about going from Calais. Easier? Any comments regarding anything to do with the trip are more than welcome as always. -

Examples of great driving 13 Sep 2010 (Forum)
After a short break in the UK and all the aggressive driving and speed cameras at every turn, it's great to be back in Spain and return to the 'normality' of driving here. Tonight for example, I was cheerfully overtaken... ...whilst travelling on a steep uphill gradient... ...on a blind bend... ...by a 4x4... -
All diesel - Particulate filters in hot climate 9 Aug 2010 (Forum)
First post for me although have been an avid reader for many years. I live in Spain and the time is coming to change the old Xsara Picasso 2.0HDi, probably for a C3 Picasso 110HDi. I like the way a diesel engine drives and diesel is cheaper here in Spain than in U.K. The question is does the warmer climate have any affect on the regeneration cycle of the almost inevitable DPF/FAP ? -

Having, about a month ago, bought a Ford imported from Spain through one of the car supermarkets I was told the car manual and service record paperwork would follow in "some weeks". Anyone had experience of this arriving or not? My dealer can order me the book etc or should I wait? -

Driving holiday Costa Blanca in March 23 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Briefly, I'm after any advice on where to head for and any special hotel recommendations outside the main resorts, starting from Alicante - do we head south or north? I know Spain in March isn't ideal, but as long as we don't get any snow I'll be happy, and it's only a week. BB -

Nissan Qashqai - Engine revved itself to death 31 Aug 2016 (Forum)
Hi All, So.... Took our 57 plate, 2.0 diesel Qashqai on it's second trip to southern Spain. All was going well until day 2. I was on the motorway doing 75mph on cruise control when the road started up a steep section of motorway. All of a sudden the car started to speed up on its own. I turned off the cruise control but it kept speeding up. -
Advice on a car for us! 30 Jun 2008 (Forum)
(As an aside I filled up with Shell diesel in Gibraltar last week for £0.81 per litre, whereas in Spain it is now 1,29 Euros per litre). We are both retired on VERY modest fixed pensions and economy of purchase, road tax, insurance and VED are of prime importance - to the exclusion of pretty well any other criteria.
