  • Yuasa Batteries - How good are they ? 2 Oct 2012 (Forum)
I am trying top find a replacement battery for my Subaru legacy (2005). The only battery I can find which is not "sealed" and therefore top-up-able and able to keep an eye on the water  level is Yuasa. Can anyone vouch for the quality of these batteries ?
  • Micra 2000 Battery Advice 23 Sep 2006 (Forum)
My Micra has the original manufacturers battery in which is now over six years old. One of the terminals is covered in white battery acid powder, I keep wiping it clean but it just returns. Is this a sign that I am needing a new battery? Apart from this there are no problems with it.
  • NIO battery swap 22 Jan 2022 (Forum)
I do not know how the NIO system works or whether you buy the car with a battery or merely rent the batteries probably the latter?  These stations look expensive and must have charging systems for the battery swops. It did not say whether you can charge these batteries yourself otherwise the system would seem pretty limited if you have to take your car to have the battery changed all the time?
  • Nissan Micra (1992 - 2003) - 01 1.0 Twelve month old battery: recharge and fit 5 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Today, I fitted the new battery. It started the car up with no problems, but the dashboard showed a "battery low" light that went out immediately when I started the engine. This normally doesn't happen. The "battery low" light is usually never shown.

  • Car battery questions 31 Oct 2008 (Forum)
    2. What is the best kind of battery to get? I ask because the CBCB says "Beware of cheap 'Tudor' batteries which can blow acid out of the vent, damaging paint and underbonnet components. Best replace with Citroen branded battery."
  • Battery life 25 Mar 2004 (Forum)
There are many different battery chargers on the market. I wonder if recharging car battery always works without needing replacement? If not, under what situation requires replacement?
  • BMW 318d 2006 - Second battery compartment 24 Nov 2018 (Forum)
Hi, i know that the starting battery is located in the rear boot on the right hand side but I may decide to place a leisure battery in the boot also ( I have done this before on a 406). On the left hand side in the boot is another space, similar to where the cars battery is housed currently holding the jack I think?

  • Mondeo battery capacity 9 Jan 2004 (Forum)
After a recent flat battery on my 2001 Mondeo 1.8 LX I decided to replace the battery. The battery fitted from new was a 390 amp 43 amp/hour, which seemed rather small to me. My local Ford dealer said it should have had a larger one so I've fitted a 590 amp 60 amp/hour.
  • Vauxhall Astra G Diesel - Battery drain whilst driving 24 May 2014 (Forum)
Astra 1.3cdti estate 2006.  Battery fully drains within 1 mile of driving with fully charged battery.  Battery and Alternator have both been exchanged with same result.  When fitting a new battery the car will start and drive for about 10 minutes, then the engine light will come on and car will stop.
  • Battery choices - is calcium a worthwile buy ? 6 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Came back from holiday (car not used, took taxi to airport), drove to Waitrose (about 2 miles), stalled once along the way (got used to driving an automatic), left the wife and kids in the car with the cd player on, and when I came back (no more than 15 minutes), battery was dead, and had to be jump started. I reckon that batteries that have gone flat are best off just being replaced, any thoughts? Battery cost seems to be £65+. (Battery type is 096.) And what's this stuff about 'calcium' batteries?

  • VW Golf My 4 Diesel 2003 - DIY Battery Change 16 Nov 2013 (Forum)
I have noticed that my car battery is starting to struggle to deliver a clean strong "start",It is the original battery from new. I am considering changing it myself and aquiring a new battery from one of the on line battery stores. ( less than half price of well known retailers ) I have the radio security code  and am aware of how to reset  the electric windows My question is, is there any other technical problem that may develop by disconnecting the battery ?
  • Ford Mondeo 54 2.0 TDCI - Mondeo Battery RC? AH? Help!! 12 Apr 2012 (Forum)
Have had some problems with my battery draining recently on my 54 plate 2.0 TDCI Mondeo. Following recommendation from the Green Flag man to replace the battery as it is the original battery, I ordered a new one online by simply entering the registration plate of my car.
  • battery draining - 1998 Fiat Punto 22 Oct 2006 (Forum)
helo all, iv got a `98` punto and the battery went flat overnite with no warning,it allways span the engine over fine before then. I bought a new battery and the old one was the original so at 8 years old it was gona die anyway. A month later and after not driving the car for 2 days the battery was barely starting the car so i took it for a good run (nite time-lights and heater fan on) and disconected the battery overnite...the battery was fine next day so im presuming the alternator is fine and i must have something draining it with ignition off.
  • Renault Espace IV battery going flat 6 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I have tried to jump start it with no success when the battery is dead. The battery is 2 1/2 years old, is it likely to have failed? The very cold snap seemed to affect the battery in particular. I suppose the alternative would be a faulty alternator. Yes I know it was voted the most unreliable car by JD Power.
  • Battery charging? 2 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Hi, I have a question re charging a spare car battery. I have a spare battery that I leave on charge via a timer, which I allow a 15 minute charge twice a day, therefore having a fully charged spare battery, (reason being that my car, parked in the garage, can be sat there for a week or more without being used and I have had a flat battery on the odd occassion, and also as I have this battery there is no point in leaving it flat),is it OK to do this and do I need to leave the filler caps off/loose, as obviously they are not loose when the car is charging a battery when on the move, and leaving them loose evaporates the water.
  • Ford Fiesta 1.6TDCI 2007 - Battery Spec/Size 8 Feb 2014 (Forum)
I contacted eurocarparts & they rechecked their system & said the one that should fit in my battery holder would be a higher spec one. I then replaced the Excide Premium battery with a Bosch S4 100 battery (278mm x 175mm x 175mm 72ah, 680Cca). Hopefully it will fit into my battery holder when I come to fit it??
