Lucas electrics 25 Jun 2002 (Forum)
While looking for information on the control box, I came across this, which should amuse anyone who has ever owned an old Landie or British Leyland car: http://www.landroverclub.net/Club/HTML/Humor_electrics.htm By the way, can anyone explain to me, very simply, what the three coils in a Lucas control box actually do? -

New MINI 3 Oct 2001 (Forum)
Its a very nice piece of kit and everyone is stopping outside our house to have a look! Lovely to drive - feels like a much bigger car on the motorway and yet like a Caterham on the country roads! What more can you want? Sold the old Cinquecento for a grand today as well so motoring wise pretty damn chuffed. Piers -
7 seats but dont like MPVs 1 Apr 2001 (Forum)
I'm looking for a car with 7 seats for family running around and the occaisional longer trip, but dont like big MPVs as they seem a bit van like. I've got about £8-12k to spend and it has to be an automatic. My thoughts to date: Vauxhall Zafira, Peugeot 406 estate, maybe an old Mercedes E-class estate. -
It's muscle car time again 28 Oct 2005 (Forum)
A grateful HMG is also coughing up a princely sum these days by way of old age pension waiting to be spent on something. I hate being called a "Senior Citizen", especially since I have no interest in needlework or golf and much prefer "Old Age Pensioner". This allows one to come from nowhere and both surprise and annoy others 10 years younger with disap;p;roving wives who would far prefer one to act old so that it doesn't show them up. -
My car was mistakenly scrapped by dvla 13 Jan 2020 (Forum)
Hi Everyone, So to cut a long story short we recently (in September) bought a 5 month old car from a main dealer. Just before Xmas we received a refund on the road tax .... very odd We called the dvla to find out why they had refunded the road tax and they said it was because the car had been reported as scrapped on their system and asked us to send photos of the car/Vin etc sitting on our drive. -

Chrysler Voyager 2.5crd - Car Loses Power 6 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Car will normally start again if left for 4 - 5 minutes. We have a problem with the barrel in the car in that you can remove the key from the barrel and the car will continue to run. This can be done at 3 positions on the barrel. -
What do you like to listen to in the car? 18 May 2011 (Forum)
I had a DAB radio in my old car which I miss very much (Planet Rock fan!!) but I don't want to wreck my fascia by installing it in my current car. What does everyone like to have on the radio when they drive? Or have you got such a stunning car you like to listen to its roars of power LOL?! -

Life story of a car - Polo C 1985 23 Apr 2010 (Forum)
We were lucky with those and it only suffered the repeated driveshaft outer joint boot failures that seemed typical of VW boots at the time. It`s time was up - but the Old Man watched it running around locally for a few months, driven by the lad working at the nearby garage - to whom it had been given. I`ve never serviced one car for longer and can still see, in the minds eye - every detail of the engine bay. -
