  This one has caught my eye. Seems quite quick and a bit frugal on fuel and also I can only see them in auto form ( ideally I want an auto)  So is the Mondeo 2.0 petrol Ecobbost engine any good? Also how good is the auto gearbox? Finally is any of it especially expensive to repair?

  i have an old corsa b 1.2 1993,when the engine is running and i switch on anything electrical,lights,wipers,heater etc,the engine cuts out and wont restart,sometimes for a few days,ignition lights all stay on but there is no power to anything,and no fuel getting to engine,any ideas alternator and battery both ok

  When it apears the engine starts vibrating and check engine light flashes, accelerating makes the whole car vibrate. I'm thinking of water contaminated fuel.  Any ideeas on what might be the problem ? Thank you!

  I am neurotic.  A number of cars I see have stop start engines for fuel efficiency.  Does this result in problems for time taken moving off from, for example, traffic lights and more importantly emerging from a junction after being stationary ? Are there differences in the technology used by different manufacturers ?

  Sometimes it is possible to get it to accelerate up beyond the cutout and then it will run all day. it started 7 days ago and is getting worse. Is there a sensor which checks the fuel pressure for failsafe? if so where is it?

    Luckily the car's occupants were well clear of the blaze.  Given how fiercely it was burning, I could only think a fuel line had broken in the engine bay and had leaked in quantity into the engine.   Are car fires common these days?

  Hi,i was wondering if anyone would be able to shed any light on this problem. I can't open the flap to get to the fuel cap. Is this a motorised mechanism? Because i have an extended warrentee on the car from the place i bought it from as the car is only 4 years old and hasnt even got 30,000 on the clock. They are refusing to repair it as it is only a wear and tear item and not mechanical or electrical.

  A colleague filled his Golf's TDi tank with petrol yesterday and drove off before the engine cut out. He got the tank drained and a new fuel filter installed but how much damage could he have done (he says it's driving okay) and when is this likely to manifest itself? Car is a 2007 2.0TDi with £80k on the clock.

  What comments do you have on the de Verde Hydrogen-on-Demand System and how it affects vehicle performance? Even if feeding Hydrogen into the engine inlet manifold improves fuel burning effieciency I find it difficult to believe that the rate of Hydrogen and volume produced by the system is enough to make a difference.

  I'm considering purchasing a 1.4 TDCi Fiesta to replace my 1.6 petrol focus, I'm going through loads of miles and the fuel economy of my Focus just isn't cutting it any more. Ford states the mpg of the Fiesta is 67.  I was wondering what people are actually getting?  As I assume real life driving comes no where near this figure.....

  I have calculated mpg for each full tank and the computer is consistently over the actual consumption figure so I wonder if the figures it shows for mileage on remaining fuel might be dubious too. Anyone got any ideas?
