  Hello all, Purchased an "Approved Used" car from a main dealer The dealer mis-sold service history and warranty Promised FSH but car has partial history with 6 years history missing. Warranty is invalid as the condition for warranty needs car to have service done annually.

  I guess this is a yes or no answer, and I rather expect it to have been done to death already. Apologies, could not find it. Bought a used car 24th May. Today suspect an expensive problem. I am within six months, just. When the car was bought, the dealer mentioned (and kept mentioning) that his warranty was for six months or six thousand miles, whichever comes first.

  I purchased an used Skoda Octavia Estate 58 plate from an approved Skoda garage in September 2014. Part of that purchase was a service and MOT contract (and as it trasnpires alongside this was a 1 year warranty on the car) The car developed issues with its air conditioning during the summer of 2015, I took it into the dealer who service and re gassed, and it worked fine for a couple of weeks before stopping working again, when I took the car in for its MOT shortly after I asked them to have another look at the air conditioning, they did, stating the compressor was broken, and told me it would be £1234 to repair.

  I have a BMW X5 3.0 diesel, just coming up to its fifth birthday. I got a quote for BMW Insured Warranty Comprehehsive cover for next year, and it quoted £926.71 for a year with £100 excess for a car with 50,000 miles, but said to log in to the BMW warranty site for an exact quote. I did, and entered my mileage which is 68,355.

  Our renault megane hatch has done 13,000 miles in just under 3 years.  There is a howling noise from the gearbox when the car moves off, especially on an incline. The warranty expires 23.10.10. The local renault agent has diagnosed that it is a "squawking clutch" and that it won't let us down.  It is caused by doing too few miles.

    I would maintain that using components and unapproved fitters represents unfair contract terms and contradicts the expectation of an insurance policy to restore the insured to the position they were in before the claim; especially where the insurer’s preferred resolution of a claim reduces the car's safety features and invalidates the car manufacturer’s warranty.

  It can't be due to misuse as I am used to using my A/C all year round at least once a week. Car is obviously out of warranty but it annoys me as these things should not have happened.
