Learner driver and insurance 10 Jan 2019 (Forum)
Daughter has just started driving lessons.I've bought L plates and want to take her out myself in my car. Am I covered on comprehensive insurance for her to drive as a learner or will I have to load my insurance with a higher premium. How does it work? -

just bought a new Suzuki Jimny,which on the whole i'm happy with..it does what it says on the tin..however the gears are really hard to engage,just wondered if this is normal for a new car(its only covered 500 miles)going back to the dealer on tuesday to be checked out...can anyone advise... -

I have been looking at W-X reg lowish millage Puntos and find that all of them show signs of an oil leak underneath the car, around the gearbox area. I also notice that the rocker cover gaskets seep oil as well. Are there some known problems? -

I am loking for a three year old Nissan QX 2.0 V6 automatic. Unfortunately they almost all have high mileages. Is it realistic to expect a car of this sort that already has 90,000 miles on the clock to cover a further 120,000 over the next eight years without major mechanical problems? John -

i own a rover 820si n reg which seems to emit an excessive amount of white smoke soon after starting, would it just be burning off condensation or could there be another problem, the tail pipe has a rusty appearance inside, the car has covered 71000 miles any answers? -

I was so surprised it started up so perfectly after years of sitting around I did it again, the same result so I shut it off to put the cover on. I put the cam cover on and tried again, instead of starting it made a kinda click noise and wouldn't start, I tried again and this time it didn't make the click noise at all, was completely dead. -

The parked car has an mot and road tax. First question...is it legal for a car to be parked on the road with no specific insurance, so long as it is roadworthy (MOT) and Taxed? Once a week I have been driving the car to keep it from seizing up, I have been driving it on the basis of third party only cover being provided by my new comprehensive insurance policy. 1. -

Hi, If I buy a new car, part of the price is a registration fee of several hundred £££. What does this cover? If I buy a private registraion, for whatever price, plus a retention and transfer fee to the DVLA, I still need to pay the full registration fee. -

Driving through Crawley this lunchtime, saw one of these little electric cars (the sort usually driven by old ladies along the pavement). This was being driven by a man but along the road, even though there was a pavement available. He just trundled on as though he was a miniature car. -

The removable right side boot panel in my car seems to have lost the ability to close the catch and stay in place. I can see no obvious way of accessing the fixings on it and wondered if this was a replacement part. The car is less than 3 years old - would this be covered on warranty? -

I noticed a car covered in it last week. The rear wiper had been deployed and there was a clear arc you could see through. There was little on our cars just South of Leeds - although I kept them rinsed off with a hose - in particular the glass areas. -

Saw second S Max today (first one parked though). Looks really good- and not much taller than normal car. Think that looked odd was the metalwork on the top of the rear n/s door was covered in masking tape- and car had a 55 reg- didn't these go on sale after the 06 plates came out? Would still like one though. -

Hi Gang, We sold a customer a one year old car recently which developed a gearbox fault and broke down. It was covered by the manufacturers two year unlimited mileage warranty including breakdown. The car was fixed by their local Mercedes dealer within 24 hours.
