  • need a small auto with good acceleration 4 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Does anyone know of a small car (metro/fiesta size) that is automatic but has good low down pickup/acceleration, preferably under £2K. I thought of the Peugeot 106/205 diesels/turbodiesels but am unsure if they are available in auto. thanks

Good advice, but unfortunately the position of the brake pedal on many automatics is clearly designed for right foot operation. Perhaps the manufacturers are missing a trick here.

  • KIA Sorento - Kia Sorento 2015 automatic transmission problem 5 Dec 2019 (Forum)
I went to a Kia dealer to test drive a used automatic Kia Sorento KX-3, 2015. When I tried to shift the gear lever from Parking to Drive I couldn’t, it just wouldn't move. The sales person tried as well and couldn’t. Then a mechanic came and opened a little flap that covered a tiny hole next to the gear lever.
  • peugeot 1.1 xl independence 1997 - Automatic clutch cable and very high biting point 11 Mar 2013 (Forum)
(The clutch feels normal, and there is no clunking or grating etc) I have added an inch of washers to the clutch cable, in the hope something would change...it didn't and removed one of the original washer...again , no change in clutch biting position. (I didn't realise it was an automatic adjust cable at that point :) ) http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m147/liammcl_2006/Clutch%20106%201100cc%2029%20Jan%202013/extended_zps2d4e8b25.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m147/liammcl_2006/Clutch%20106%201100cc%2029%20Jan%202013/shortened_zps69986c7e.jpg Does anyone know how an auto adjust cable works?...

If anyone wants a laugh, my search is Altrincham, up to 30 miles, up to £1500, 5 door, automatic, 1.0L - 1.3L but my wife is impatient and I am destined to buy the least worst car I see this weekend.
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.6 stalling whilst driving (Automatic) 5 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Hi, I hope someone can help. I have a problem with my 2002 Focus 1.6 automatic. The vehicle has run fine for years been regularly maintained/serviced etc. I find i can start the car fine, but after several minutes of driving, the car completely cuts out. I get no warning lights, it just switches off as if you have turned the key to switch it off, the power steering disappears, and the brakes go heavy.

  • Volkswagen Sharan (1995 - 2009) - What to replace it with? 10 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Our 10 year old Sharan needs a new transmission, so we need to buy a newer MPV. I do a lot of motorway journeys, otherwise I'm driving in London. For that reason the automatic Sharan has been great. I'd like another automatic, and for 8 years the Sharan was relatively trouble free. I'm looking for a car that's about 3 years old. Does anyone have thoughts on what the newer Sharan's are like, or suggestions on other MPV's to consider would be very welcome.
