• Peugeot 406 1998 TD over revving 22 Nov 2005 (Forum)
  My 1998 Peugeot 406 TD has begun to over rev on start up although it seems to resolve when the engine has been running. It will also rev up when, for example, stopped at traffic lights or when stopped with the engine running in a queue of traffic.

  On my way back from work today my K reg Peugeot 106 started making a screeching sound as I went to change gear, especially when I was changing at a higher speed, e.g. 3rd to 4th/4th to 5th. Screeching continued when rolling at speed in neutral and then appeared to quiten down (as if something was slowing down while turning) as speed declined.

  I'm not a Peugeot fan, but the 407 does stand out from the crowd. As a potential replacement for my Volvo S60, they look really good value at under £11k for a 54 plate 2.0 petrol. And living in France as I do, servicing must surely be cheap and easy to arrange?

  Recently i bought an S reg (1998) Peugeot 306 (1.6 petrol engine Meridian Model.) The 1st week it drove without problems, but now it refuses to start. I have looked at the fuel pump which is fine and checked the fuses again these are ok, the car turns over when i turn the key so the battery is fine aswell.

  My daughter's Peugeot 106 intermittently produces a squeal from the engine. Can happen when stationary or moving. Lasts for seconds or up to a minute then disappears. Most likely to happen when cold or soon after starting but also has occured when engine is warm (not fully hot).

  Peugeot quote ATF D as their preferred ATF but is this Dextron II or !! or is it another version of AFT I searched the warehouse last evening and no sign of ATF D. I could have G and Dextron II or III but no D.

  as you may have seen im in the market for a newer car , it was previously a choice between a new style Vectra or the C5 , both diesel. Ive been looking around and came across a Peugeot 406 2004 model that has sat-nav . Is this a free to use gizmo on the car or does one have to pay each year to make it work ? Any advice on this thread please ? Oh its a Diesel hdi 90 , should I really have the 110 ?

  I have a Peugeot 106 XN 1.1i Grad. 1993, ocassionally when I change gears (usually when engage 1st gear) and (try to) accelarate there is a (lag)lack of power, the car does not want to accelerate (sort of flat spot) for a couple of seconds even though I got the accelerater fully depressed, this lasts for about 1-4 secs then the car responds as usual, accelerating.

  Hi, I have purchased a Peugeot 106 1.1L March 98 Look 2 67K for my daughter. Nice clean car drives well and stops well. However I notice that the reverse gear is quite noisy paticularly if I reverse up the drive. It\'s not a grinding noise just a cyclic straight cut gear type noise.

  I have been offered a Peugeot 306 GLX 1.9TD on and R plate for a very good price. Full service history, mint condition but it has done 115,000 miles and of course so has all the running gear. I?m not used to cars with such a high mileage but the price is very tempting for a commuter car for my daughter.

  Hi I have a P reg (Mark 1) Peugeot 306TD and the airbag light is always flashing at me... It comes on with the ignition, then flashes for a while when the engine is started and eventually just stays on. Now I've heard that there's something under the seat that can cause this... can anyone tell me what it is, where to find it and what to do with it???

  I've got a Peugeot 106 1.5D (N reg) which struggles to start now that it's got cold in the mornings. I've replaced the glow plugs and there is a voltage on them when the ignition is turned. The preheat relay unit doesn't cut off the supply until about 20 seconds after the dashboard light goes off.

    The car was just 6 weeks out of Warranty (ended April 2019) and despite my dealers and my own attempts via Peugeots complaints procedure, Peugeot will not assist with the replacement of the engine.  They claim the wrong engine oil was used which invalidates any warranty.  However, from the Service History records I have this is untrue as the car has been correctly serviced by an authorised Peugeot dealer.

    I've been told that some vehicle will calibrate themselves by "learning" during drive cycles - so doesn't need to be calibrated via a Diagbox scanner. One guy wanted £120 (plus an extra £40 for a Peugeot token) to calibrate it using his scanner.  So I'm totally confused what I need to do and to ensure the NOX sensor is doing what it should. Any advice.  The part number has been superceded but it's a genuine OEM NOX sensor (purchased online - not direct from Peugeot).

  Elderly neighbour's Peugeot 2003 failed to start, multimeter shows the battery has only 7 volts after standing on her drive unused for just one day. This is the fourth time this has happened over the year she has had the car, the supplying garage has supposedly fitted a new battery and new fuse box, which has not cured the problem.

  I have tracked down a replacement however the clips are not there and I cannot find a code to order any. I have posed the question to Peugeot but haven’t received a reply in 5 days and would really like to get this sorted. I have spotted some clips on eBay but not sure if they are a generic clip that suits all Peugeot or not. Can anybody help me track them down?

  Hi I have a military application of a Peugeot engine.  I have no idea what it is what vehicle it originated from - can anyone help?   The only markings I can find is a part number on the front belt covers (that indicates it is a belt cover!)

  Please help. I purchased a new Peugeot 2008 1.2 130 (petrol engine) this year and after around 1000 miles it started to hesitate between 1750 rpm and 2250 rpm when accelerating with throttle foot pressed down at least 1/2 way. Either side of 1750 to 2250 rpm there is no hesitation.
