406 hdi temp gauge problem 9 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I have a 2000 406 hdi 90 with an erratic temperature gauge. It will warm up and be ok some times but then go up and down for no apparent reason while driving. Any ideas what might be causing this? Also the outside temp gauge on the computer display doesn't work at all, just shows --. Any ideas ? -
A4 Avant 51 - headlights for France 3 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I would like to adjust my headlights for driving in France? I am informed that there is "a lever" behind the headlight for flipping them? Can any one shed any light on where this lever might be - drivers side, passenger side, and what it might look like etc. -

Weighing up whether to fly or drive from Manchester for a business thing. Flight times are a pain requiring an overnight stay on Friday which stuffs a weekend thing for me. A colleague was down there last week and it took him 8 hours with combo of accidents and r/works but 5 hours on way back. -

"I'd buy an auto if... 29 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Can someone please explain why someone would do this, as it baffles me. On a motorway I might as well be driving an auto as it goes in fifth gear and stays there. Around town is where I'd most likely want an auto. Why are some people so dense?! -

Most economical- Jazz or Escort 28 May 2006 (Forum)
Hi, This summer I may be doing quite a lot of driving, mixture of motorway and country roads. I was just wondering which would be most economical to run a Honda Jazz 1.4 automatic or a 1.3 Escort. The Honda has a much more modern engine but the escort has very high gearing. -
What's at the head of the queue? 29 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Ambling along a normally fast A-Road the other day behind an old Pajero, I got to wondering which cars other backroomers associate with extra slow driving? Back in the 80's I remember Triumph Toledos heading the queue. More recently E-H reg Renault Espace's have, erm, slowed the pace of life somewhat. -
Fiat Punto Airbag Warning Light On 2 Apr 2006 (Forum)
After accidentally driving over a pothole in the road, both the passenger and driver airbag warning lights came on. Having restarted the car a couple of times, now it is just the driver airbag warning light that is on. Please could anyone tell me whether this can be reset, without having to go to a garage to do it? -
307 Diesel Economy Mode 21 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Turn off the engine and listen to the radio while waiting for a late running (again)train to arrive. After 10 minutes radio cuts out and a little light goes on saying "Economy Mode". Drives me mad. Is the battery power so marginal that the radio (standard fit) will drain it after 10 mins. Can this setting be over ridden? -

Given previous topic, this is one of the key reasons I was keen not to hand over my licence.. due to go to San Francisco over Easter, and have hired a (6 cylinder, presumably) Mustang Convertible from Hertz.. £170 for the week. Anyone driven one? was this a wise decision? Driving down through Big Sur and then up to Yosemite. Tim{P} -

how many brands have you driven 5 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I was bored the other day, and decided to recall all the different brands I had ever driven (whether as a test drive or owned or a friend's car). 14 was my final count in 15 years of motoring. Are there people out there who have only ever driven the same brand their entire life? -

Hi, A friend has the above car and says it always jumps "like she's in too high a gear" nearly every time she drives it. But this problem only occurs when it's cold. When it's warm, everything is fine "more or less". Vague I know. Any ideas folks? Many thanks, Adam -
Berlingo Multispace HDi MPG Variations 21 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Does any body have any thoughts on why MPG on my Multispace HDi should vary from 30 to 45 over a few months, not as a steady decrease but haphazardly? OK its a 2450 mile second car, 6 months old but is that it? Would good hard everyday driving sort it? Or is this a common HDi problem? -

Peugeot 307 23 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I read in the German press that 307s have been spontaniously combusting all over Europe and I believe are subject to a recall. The advice is not park in your garage as this has burnt houses down, although this has been happening while people have been driving,no reason has been put forward as yet so just be careful you pug owners. -
