  • Ford Galaxy! annoying rattle! 22 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Hi, My 2004 galaxy TDi 130 Ghia has just been repaired after an accident. Now, every time that i drive over a bump, there is a noise coming from under the car, just under the gearstick, It sounds like a screw or something, I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem. Thanks
  • 4x4 Surveys knocking on my door 15 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Just going to give someone a lift to the doctors and there was a knock at the door. A woman asks if I own the 4x4 in the drive and would I mind answering a survey? As I said no to the questionnaire and I needed to get out I forgot to ask who and why they are conducting the survey, anyone else had them call?
  • Chieveley- A34 to M4 West bound 7 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Hello While driving North on the A34, I wonder if anyone else has missed the turning to get on the M4 West bound at Chieveley? The contractors are doing a superb job on the flyover and all the necessary roadworks. However, while the work is in progress, it's a pity they've left the road signage to our imagination...!
  • Megane Renaultsport 225 22 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Hi everyone, Gonna test drive one of these on Wednesday. Anyone already driven one - perhaps own one. They look rather appealing at internet prices of £15750 :) The alternatives don't really appeal. Something about the Honda Civic type R just doesn't appeal.
  • Us and Oz 29 Jul 2004 (Forum)
However, I have now noticed several other countries do, so I'm wondering if anyone knows what the rhd/lhd split is? Whether the EU will ever have the nerve to try to get us to drive on the right doesn't bear thinking about....
  • Garage won't release car 24 Jun 2004 (Forum)
One of the points it failed on was the front brakes they say that one of the discs is cracked in two places. The garage say that they consider the car unsafe to drive and have a legal obligation to not allow it to leave until the brakes have been fixed. For this they will charge £200. Can they do this?
  • Awful colour 5 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Saw a new Mini earlier today and I have to say I was aghast at the colour of it, best described as off white or light grey. Each to their own etc but surely the young lady driving it will take a big hit at trade in time due to the colour. I have also seen a few in dull yellow which look iffy. (rant over)
  • car delivery from auction 2 May 2004 (Forum)
Does anybody have any idea how much it would cost to have it transported to the south coast (Bournemouth), or alternative suggestions on how to get it home. I am not willing to take the risk of driving it uninsured, which it would be as I doubt it will be taxed.
  • Vectra 2.0dti ECU light at idle 30 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Hi, I've recently been getting my ECU light coming on when I've been driving and then come to a standstill(eg, at lights). The light goes back out again when I start to move again. Any ideas? My car is a Vectra, S-Reg, 2.0DTI with 115,000 miles on it. Reesky
  • Ban slow vehicles at rush hour. 24 Mar 2004 (Forum)
I drive on mostly A-Roads to my work. Every day i experience large queues due to tractors/JCBs on the road. Wouldn't it make sense to ban these vehicles from A Class roads and above between the hours of 7:00-9:00 and 16:00-18:00?
  • Stalling Automatic Fiesta 11 Mar 2004 (Forum)
My Old Dads Fiesta Auto is stalling occassionally when it's idling and when he puts it in drive at the traffic lights. Local Ford Agent put it on Diagnostic Tester and said; "Uneconomical Repair....New Gearbox Required.....£1600 to you"!!!!!!!!!!! 1997(P) 1.25 auto, 22k mls, reg. serviced. Observations appreciated.
  • Audi Climate Control 29 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Climate Control Audi A6 does anyone know if it is possible to change the temp for each zone by just using the drivers control instead of adjusting both sides seperatly, as I drive mostly on my own this is a pain, I know it can be done in the A4 but can it be done in the A6. Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks
  • Pet Hate 19 Feb 2004 (Forum)
I see cars every morning and evening in twilight hours who will just not switch their lights on and it drives me nuts. Surely there must be some way that manufacturers can make lights with infra red sensors that switch themselves on and off like street lights
  • motorised sccoters 1 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Drove into my street tonight to find that I had to stop as a kid on a motorised (petrol) scooter on the opposite side of the road decided to overtake some parked cars by driving into my path. He is under 16, so has no licence, no insurance (I asked), no road tax (obviously) and no helmet (oh, and little sense). Surely this can\'t be legal?
  • Car Supermarkets - Good or Bad? 29 Jul 2003 (Forum)
I keep reading a lot about Car Supermarkets. Are they good or bad? I understand you cant test drive the car, and haggling is pretty much not available (given that they have low prices anyway). I've also heard of cars being imports without paperwork, or dents etc, but I wondered if they get a raw deal?
  • VED Disc 9 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Please can anyone explain where the VED disc is meant to be displayed, on a car, and where I can find a reference to the law? I thought bottom left hand corner of near-side windscreen on a RHD drive can but I can't prove it!
  • Omega gearbox sensors 20 Mar 2003 (Forum)
A Relative of mine is having trouble with what appears to be a sensor failing intermittantly On the gearbox. All of a sudden, whilst driving along, the gearbox wll just become a box full of neutrals. A quick stop and restart clears it and it might be ok for a couple of miles, or a couple of months, Any ideas?
  • Road surfaces 18 Mar 2003 (Forum)
They are doing a lot of road resurfacing in my area and replacing the surface with that lovely quiet material thats joy to drive on only it's a shame that they adopt a piecemeal system a bit here and a bit there. Imagine how pleasent a lengthy journey would be if the entire road was surfaced with it. a Also I wonder (techy question here) if these road surfaces are easier on the fuel consumption?.
  • Range Rover Air Suspension 16 Jan 2003 (Forum)
