2007 Peugeot Partner Origin 1.6HDi Van - Starting problem 24 Dec 2015 (Forum)
I wonder if someone knows about this warm starting issue, please? My HDi van starts great when cold and runs great at 77K miles only. However, when it's warmed up and switched off, restarting fails, symptoms seem like flat battery (new battery fitted and connections checked ok). The starter motor solenoid isn't jamed as the van will start again ok after about 30 minutes after something is cooling down, although engne isn't overheating. -
Peugeot 307 SW HDI - losing the plot 17 Dec 2015 (Forum)
Anti pollution light and engine light on. So its had new turbo, new egr and solenoid on turbo. No joy, still running badly. I've now been told I need a new turbo repeater valve and looking at another £800. Apparently the gas pressures are wrong and the error egr limits not learned is coming up. -
Volvo XC70 - Cold start issues 24 Nov 2015 (Forum)
I have a 2003 plate XC70 with which I am generally delighted. however, it ghas recently developed a reluctance to start from cold. It will start faultlessly at up to 5 or 6 hours after last run; but leave it for 8 or 9 hours or more and it will not start without a shot of Easi-start in the air intake. My local garage (usually very good) seem bemused; i have thus far had new glow plugs, new battery and a replacement injector which was stuck apparently. -
Any and all - HJ website and ads 8 Nov 2015 (Forum)
I know plenty of people use them to avoid adspam and to speed up websites, but I appreciate that running websites costs money, and hosting adverts that are (hopefully) relevant to the viewer is how that money is earned, along with having links, sponsored articles, 'commercial partners', etc. However, as of today, HJ seems to have gone horribly slow. -

Vauxhall Astra H (2004 - 2009) - Fuel gauge reading incorrect 7 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Hi everyone This is my second Astra H and it is displaying the exact same fault as my previous model. The gauge will read 1/4 of a tank but will be run out of fuel.My previous model was petrol and I learnt to keep it topped up but cant believe my new one (diesel) has the same fault ! I have read the road test report on this site and it states in the 'What to wach out for' section that a faulty reading gauge could indicate a fault with the (REC) rear electrical center ? -
Vauxhall Corsa D - '08 Corsa misfire 18 Aug 2015 (Forum)
Hi all, [car is 2008 1.4 corsa auto] engine light (engine electrics ) started coming on intermittently, stays on and car runs sluggishly (I suppose in emergency mode), but then is not on when car is started again. I changed the plugs and air filter and cleaned out the (partially blocked) breather hoses. At idle, can feel a slight misfire or knock, can't tell under load. -

Literally no damage to impact bar, just a tiny dent that is not visible and only obvious if you run your hand along bar. Should i get it replaced or is it okay with very small dent in it? Would appreciate thoughts / comments - thanks -

Vauxhall Corsa B '93 - Help Please! Hot Start - Fuel not electrics? 7 Jun 2015 (Forum)
Got a basic '93 Corsa 1200 worth nothing on paper, but actually straight as a die, rust free, 70k etc etc. It starts and runs perfectly all the time with no performance problems I can detect , but when properly hot after 10 miles or so, if stalled or switched off will not even try to fire unless it's cooled for a few minutes. -
Sage of Kettleshulme 31 May 2015 (Forum)
Yesterday we followed a group including a blonde ponytail giving the fellas stick as she powered up the hill. During the run up to the general election the notice was worded to the effect that MPs are like nappies and need to be changed occasionally. -
volvi s60 T5 selling or keeping?? 9 May 2015 (Forum)
I was thinking of selling it for more economical car I.e. Honda civic. My budget is around 2.5k (I know, times are difficult). Volvo runs great, so comfy but thirsty for a 20mile daily commute.I had all the service done on Volvo but it looks like some suspension issues are creeping out. So my question is, is it better to sell or hold on and fix what's needed? -

Chevrolet Camaro - The fastest street-legal car in the US (in 2013) 4 Apr 2015 (Forum)
615 cubic inches, 2150bhp at the wheels, and it ran sub-7 second passes for 5 consecutive days in Hot Rod Magazine's 'Drag Week' competition, in which the cars must compete at a different drag strip every day, and have to drive (not be trailered) between them (1000 miles total over the 5 days). Not only did it run 6.72 seconds at 217mph, it's also capable of 11 miles per (US) gallon on the highway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GQxXT0BpB4 -
Are modern diesels too good? 2 Mar 2015 (Forum)
Mine is spinning at 4000rpm at 80mph and that will definitely 'blow the cobwebs out' (always drives better after a long hard run) They seem over-specified for what they end up doing, even motorway work only uses a fraction of the power except when overtaking. Having the power in reserve must be nice though....;) -
Vauxhall Corsa petrol 1.0 2007 85000 miles - Engine warning light 3 Feb 2015 (Forum)
The engine warning light keeps coming on. It has been back to the garage three times. Each time they plug in the diagnostic and run an emissions test but can find nothing wrong. Immediately after the garage visit, the light is extinguished but then after 5 miles it comes back on again and stays on persistently, despite there being no apparent problem with the car. -
2007 Ford Focus2 1.6 petrol - Slow heater warm up 17 Dec 2014 (Forum)
For some time now, although the engine temperature gauge shows that the engine heats up very quickly, the heater can take about 15 minutes to get hot enough. There is then plenty of heat. Therer are no coolant leaks, the engine runs fine and no work has been done on the coolant system. Does anyone have any idea what may be the cause? I was wondering if there could be an air lock somewhere, but if that were the case would the heater eventually start working properly?
