DVLA - Driving licences 28 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Just changed address on the driving licence and vehicle registration number, Advice to all, get proof of posting or better still send recorded deivery. "new look" driving licence" "new look" "log book" all new documents only in English, but why should dvla assume that everyone who lives in wales really "wants" the documents in welsh as well, doesn't all this extra paperwork cost a fortune, surely it could be voluntary, ie tick box at renewal/change of address? -
2003 St170 focus - droning noise whilst driving! 21 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Hi, my car starts droning from around 20 miles an hour! I have had the left front wheel bearing changed, all drive belts are fairly new. There is no noise at idle or 2-3000 revs whilst not moving. I have noticed that when I drive around a left hand bend it disappears then returns when on straight, also gets louder around right hand bend! -

Driving to London - can I park overnight? 16 Dec 2009 (Forum)
We're travelling to London from the midlands on 1 January with two other families, staying overnight som we can see a matinee on 2 Jan. So should we ... travel by train (risk of delays/cancellations given the dates)? drive down and park somewhere overnight? If the latter, where can we park in or on the outskirts of London? I seem to remember in the 90s driving to Watford and getting a train from there, though we didn't park overnight. -

Using a phone whilst driving 18 May 2009 (Forum)
Every day I see several people using a hand-held mobile whilst driving. My 15 mile route to work involves country roads, a fast dual carriageway and a short stretch of semi-rural with speed cameras, and in every section I see people blatantly using phones. Also see this on motorways. -
10p per minute 31 Aug 2008 (Forum)
After wondering about the real world effect of speed on cost, for the commute I make (40 miles each way of mixed motorway, A roads, B roads, C roads and only a minor amount of town driving) I decided to work out the actual figures. So over the last few weeks of trying driving at 'normal' speeds, driving without exceeding the speed limit, driving at the speed limit -10% (asbestos suit on), obviously taking account of traffic conditions, etc. -

In France for example, it is not necessary to exchange the UK licence for a french one unless one commits a driving offence, so that they can award points, which they can't do on a UK licence. -

Ford Mondeo 2002 Zetec TDDI - Drive Shaft or Gear Problem 21 Jul 2013 (Forum)
The noise is still there but it is not as loud as it was this morning. I went to the mechanics and they suggest it O/S Drive Shaft problem and CV boot and they have quote me 200 pounds to get the work done. I think it can be the gear because its only making noise when i am changing the gear. Car doesnt make any other noise on the corners or regular driving. -
