  • Cars which don't attract prejudice 30 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Alternatively a Mk1 Golf GTi could maybe swing it if it was completely standard and in a dark colour, but that's a bit old for reliable driving and modern service intervals. One friend eventually went for a Renault Safranne because it isn't "aspirational", wasn't expensive as a 2 year old car and most people wouldn't remember what it was. Over to you guys for some ideas! • Not getting top speed mph 27 May 2003 (Forum)
This question is probably "how long is a piece of string" but I'll give it a go anyway. I have a 2.1 diesel Renault Trafic van which was converted to a Camper Van from new. It is 1992 and done 48,000 miles. I have been told the van is under powered for a 2.1 diesel. I can get 60mph out of it but I presumed this was because it was a heavy vehicle.
  • Sloshing water in passenger footwell 6 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Can anyone help please! I could hear water sloshing around in the passenger footwell of my Renault Megane (1.6, 4 yrs old). I could hear this for a few weeks, then I noticed that every time I pressed the accelerator the water seemed to churn, again in the passenger footwell & even if the car was stationary.
  • Insurance 17 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I've just spent the last hour or so looking at various brokers' websites online. I am male, 24, living in zone 2 SW London, with a 1989 Renault 19 TXE, driving 10,000 miles per year SD&P only. I have one year's NCB, a 7 year old licence and no claims or convictions. The lowest quote was from Zenitih, through Budget Insurnace Services, at £630.94.
  • Seized Clio Water Pump 24 Jan 2003 (Forum)
A few days ago I mentioned my son's 1994 Renault Clio 1.9d in answer to a query. He bought this car about three years ago with 100,000 miles on the clock and I said that it had now reached about 165,000 miles with very little trouble. I should have kept quiet!
  • Holiday Hire Cars 29 Aug 2002 (Forum)
Did anyone have any interesting experiences with holiday hire cars? I'll tell you about mine: HJ now has me so paranoid about Renaults that I was a bit taken aback when our Seat Ibiza hire car turned out to be a Clio! But I have to report what a pleasant experience it was. After the surprise of it's arrival and my initial fears about having a long journey ahead of us and WILL IT GET US THERE....
  • Blasted French car manufacturers 15 Nov 2001 (Forum)
The garage who normally service the car (non Citroen) apologised and said they were unable to do it because there is no central hole on the wheels on this car and apparently I believe on one of the other French manufacturers cars (Renault or Peugeot, which one escapes me). What this basically means is that these cheeky buggers are trying to force people to go to a Citroen garage to have tyres fitted at what can only be described as extortionate prices (we spent 55% less than Citroen quoted).

  • Dacia Sandero 1.2 Access - Dacia Sandero 1.2 Access Review 7 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Build quality is on a par with the Fords and Vauxhalls I have owned before, and is better than the Skoda, and MILES MILES MILES MILES MILES better then the Hyundai and Peugeots!  This Sandero is a solidly built vehicle and feels very robust (despite its Renault underpinnings).  Reliability has been sport on over 14k miles to-date.  My uncle who owns an accident repair centre is similarly impressed with its reliability. You might have guessed that I'm pretty stoked with this car.
