  • Small, petrol engined automatics - poor economy 1 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Would you say this was poor?  I would have been disappointed with less than 40mpg in my S-Max (admittedly a diesel auto) for the motorway trips.
  • Is there such a car? 12 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Preferably over 50mpg since the fuel figures listed are always optimistic to say the least. That would give us mid 40's maybe in reality? Preferably in tax bands A-G 5 door Fast acceleration  I don't think I can get all of that in one car. So far I can get most of the boxes ticked as long as I don't expect fast acceleration.

As for the longevity of the coating can anyone within the automotive industry tell me that in 4 years time I will be able to tell the difference between a G3's car and a normal one just polished normally ?.    While on this subject can anyone please tell me if Autoglyms SRP and a lot of rubbing would get rid of the etchings ?.
  • What are the options - Warm / Hot Hatch 14 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Also looked at the 207 1.6HDI - i know its probably not hot hatch teritory but figure it'll be still miles quicker then the corsa. Driven a Fiesta Zetec S diesel and thought it was ok not tried the 1.6 petrol. Not keen on the looks of the clio Overall I want something thats fun to drive and noticeably quicker then the corsa and a lot less dull.
  • Peugeot 307 HDi xsi 136 - 307 HDi low rev stuttering 16 Jun 2012 (Forum)
I will check the service history of the car tonight, but I've tried a full talk of Ultimate diesel (cost a fortune) and s shot of diesel redex, with no luck. I've been reading about the FAP sensor, apparently it can cause issues like this if it hasn't been topped up/replaced?  Does anyone know if theres anything i can try in an attempt to rule things out, I have ordered a bluetooth ODB sensor and have the Android Tourqe app, hoping it can show something useful.

  • Nissan Micra (1992 - 2003) - Need 2002 key-fob - anywhere less than £100? 9 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Could I, alternatively, buy a replacement for the little square circuit-board (which is the main part that doesn?t work) inside the remote? It?s easily removable as I?ve removed it, numerous times, to repair it. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
  • Buying a first car - diabetic/insurance 31 Oct 2011 (Forum)
Someone suggested a 1.6 Ford Focus, but i'm cautiously considering that might be a bit ambitious for a first drive, but as a few instructors use this car to teach, perhaps not? I was taught to drive in a 2000's Vauxhall Corsa, and then my instructor changed to a new Peugeot 207. I need something cheap to service, and cheap to run and insure. The initial purchase price of the car isn't that important as long as I get the right car.
  • Bentley Plotting Range Rover Beater 12 Aug 2011 (Forum)
'There is fresh, "undug" ground on the SUV side,' said Durheimer. 'The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is good, very attractive, but it can be beaten on craftsmanship. If we could produce an SUV with the interior finish of the Mulsanne, we could have a real success in China, the US and Europe. It could be our biggest seller.
  • any - funny prang 30 May 2011 (Forum)
Cycling up a gentle hill in North London, traffic crawling on my right due to serious roadworks further on,   I admire a 10 reg Maserati drop top, driver on his handsfree. I'm bang between M&S and Waitrose   I then notice a car parked on the left begin to pull out, thinking ' they must stop ' they will stop, stop stop  !! '         kerrunch,  hits Maserati in rear wheel and scrapes rear wing as Maser drives past.
  • Hit by uninsured driver 7 Mar 2011 (Forum)
No serious injuries to anyone (amazingly) but plenty of cuts & bruises, and I lost quite a vew valuable possessions in the fire. My car was a 9 month old Aveo 1.2 S A/C     Admiral insurance don't offer a new replacement during the first 12 months after registration, and added insult to injury by offering a £4,500 settlement  -  minus my £500 excess.
  • Family heirlooms & memories passed down 12 Oct 2010 (Forum)
The oldest thing I have that is - and passed from my Grandfather, to my Father - then on to me around 6yrs ago. it`s a well worn silver fobwatch chain - with the T bar at one end of the chain and a silver medallion about the same size as the old florin. Or two bob as we called it around here. The watch that went with it was stolen years ago - kept separate in a little box for security they found that and not the chain.

Much like this `Question` section in fact - where I am reliably informed you can just chat and be friendly without actually needing a question. Oh.. here`s the other Forum. Just a glance at this stage - but I wondered how they would like quizzes for example and how far you could take it off topic before you got your knuckles rapped. http://www.growsonyou.com/gardeners
