• Audi A4 - Audi DPF SENSOR 1 May 2014 (Forum)
  I have an Audi A4 2.0 tdi 58 plate (2008) standard uk spec. My engine management light came on and I've been told the code means I need a new G450 DPF Sensor. I'll have this fitted later in the week but what I would like to know is will the DPF just continue to get clogged up if I continue driving or will the normal burn off still occur if I am doing only motorway miles at high speed?

  Hi   Im getting conflicting advice regarding if my car has a dpf or not. Its showing all the signs of a fault by trying to regenerate every drive. High idle, fan on nearly all the time etc. Someone memtioned a code on the info sticker in boot and acording to that i have a dpf.

  Hi I am considering buying a Skoda Octavia Estate 1.6 TDI CR  First of all were any of these made without a dpf fitted? Secondly how common are dpf faults on these.  I will be driving to work which is 13 miles away on the motorway.  I generally go on day trips on the weekend which can be quite far.

  Having been a very happy 520SE auto petrol owner for the last 15 years, i am looking at buying a stunning BMW 520DSE Automatic with 69k on a 60 plate which has already been serivced 3 time and looks to have done mainlly motorway driving. BUT I have seen worrying reports about the DPF. I only drive between 10-20 miles a day on a motorway so will may reach  70mph for about 5 mins. occasional longer drives. I am worried bout how soon I will need to replace dpf and at what cost.

  hi, i'm looking to buy a diesel around 2008 & 2009 but the more i look the more problems i seem to find, was originally looking at a mazda 6 2.0d sport but have read too many dpf issues, then looked at the vw passat r-line 2.0d but this also has a dpf, does anyone know if this engine is any good, i've read bad things about vag 2.0 diesels. i currently drive a vw golf 1.9 gt tdi 2003, great car hassle free done 128k and had since 46k, been ultra reliable.

I think the Fiat Qubo MPV and Fiorino van does as well Along with the light, there is an extensive section within the owners manual and additional tags around the gear stick on delivery explaining how a DPF works and what to do.

    Head sent away for checking and skimmed but on putting the engine back together (over 3 weeks since breakdown!) the garage have now said that the engine won't start at all and that the DPF is blocked which is what caused the cambelt failure.  Is this likely?  The cost for fixing the DPF problem is quoted at approx. £1500 (on top of circa £1000 for work already done).

  Hi, Gents anyone put me right on this one, Ford mondeo Titanium 2.2 running as a cab so milage is racking up quickly, in an effort to pre-empt the inevitable failure of the dpf i have been looking at having it removed. The are legions of companies advertising this service, but the thing that drives me mad  is this desire to remap and download software to block the regen cycle, as far as i know the regen is only initiated by the sensors at either end of the dpf sensing the pressure difference between what is going in and what is coming out.

  I thought this would be the end of it but the very same day back to regens every 5 or 6 miles. I took it to a dpf specialist who said the pressures coming from the dpf were acceptable and said the dpf was ok but did suggest taking it back to Isuzu to check for software updates. Back at Isuzu dealers they did a software update but said this would not solve regen problem, they also did pressure checks and said the dpf is definitely blocked and would need to be sent off and cleaned at a cost of around 300 quid, they've already charged 100 odd quid to do the forced regen etc.
