  • Honda CR-V 2.2 I-CDTI diesel - Main relay location 25 Jun 2020 (Forum)
Does anyone know where the main/PGM-FI relay location is on a 2009 Honda CR-V 2.2 CDTI (diesel).  there should be one (main) relay in the under hood fuse box and another (fuel pump) in the cabin fuse box.  But both fuse boxes do not have either relays.  this is the cabin fuse box.
  • Diesels 'pros an cons' 28 Mar 2019 (Forum)
You should purchase a diesel vehicle if you want to save money in the long term. Immediate costs may be a little more expensive as diesel vehicles often come with a higher price tag. There are also style issues with diesel cars as well.

  • Future Diesels? - Diesel Repreive? - Soot at the end of the tunnel 13 Dec 2019 (Forum)
Don't think its in an engine yet, but the hope/speculation is that it could reduce the need for / load on the DPF. Gas co-combustion also reduces diesel emissions and has been used in operational engines (was poipular in Australia) but seems to ibe more complex.

  • Most economical way to drive a diesel? 2 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Having recently read in the paper and Auto Express about some chap who devised a way to drive petrol cars more economically, by accelerating flat out upto 2000 rpm in each gear then changing up, I was wondering what the most economical way to drive my diesel car (1.5dci Megane)? The article in Auto Express stated that because of the differences in the fuel injection systems between petrol and diesel, his method didn't work with diesel engines.

  • Making a monkey of the diesel myth 29 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Interesting article in the weekend press where the fuel economy of a 1.1 litre petrol Citroen C1 was compared with a 1.4HDI diesel C1 on a complete lap of the M25 at 50 mph (traffic & cameras permitting). Contrary to expectations the the diesel car achieved 82.7 mpg at a cost of £6.37, whilst the petrol engined motor returned a remarkable 85.5 mpg at a cost of £6.10.
  • Peugeot 309 (1986 - 1993) - 1989 1.9 possible fuel filter problem 8 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Then I stupidly put petrol instead of diesel in one night. So it was cleaned out at a garage & they changed the fuel filter but when I tried to start it to leave the garage, it wouldn't start! And several times after that my indicators wouldn't work.

Hi - mine is a 2008 model, a4 avant 2litre diesel. All running fine and done 75k miles. Cambelt was changed last week and the guy said there was a dent in the fuel tank, not huige but it had been mishaped. He suggests it may be a blocked breather.

  • 406 HDI Fuel/Oil Temp Gauge Fault 11 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Hi, I currently have a fault on my X reg 2000 406 Rapier Estate (90). On the instument panel the fuel gauge does not work, it sits right at the bottom (empty) end of the gauge and never moves. However the oil temp gauge displays how much fuel I have eg goes to the 'hot' end of the scale when I fill up with diesel and goes down as I use it.
  • Expanding Huyndai Fuel Tank 10 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Just bought a new Hyundai Trajet Diesel Auto. Very pleased with so far (100 miles)! Fuel capacity is supposedly 65 litres according to handbook and marketing literature. The now retired V6 had a 75 litre tank. The car came with 18 miles on it (it was delivered to us) and about 1/8 tank of fuel.

  • Expensive day - easy money 15 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Fortunately, I have AA cover, first time needed in 8 years membership. When I relayed to the operator what the symptoms were he asked if I'd recently added fuel. My hand hit my head! Yes, unleaded in a diesel car. Three hours and £225 the poorer, after no more than 15 miutes work by their fuel recovery service I was on my way. First time I've ever misfuelled in 11 years of diesel ownership!

  • Mondeo ST TDCi - fuel system emergency! 3 Nov 2006 (Forum)
My wife's 2005 Mondeo ST TDCi 2.2 broke down on friday in the pouring rain. Only just 10,000 miles on the clock. I thought it was the fuel pump as did the AA man. Today the Ford dealer has called to say that water contamination in the diesel has caused the fuel pump to break down and pass metal filings into the fuel system. The implication is that the diesel she filled up with 200 miles ago, contained water (no mention of a larger problem caused by the monsoon-like weather here last week).
