  Class winners also included a 1980 Mercedes-Benz 230TE (‘the youngtimers’), a 1959 Borgward Isabella Coupé Cabrio (‘Borgward classic’), the 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS Prototipo (‘La Dolce Vita’), a 1967 Porsche 911 Targa (‘sunshine express’), a 1982 Audi Quattro Rally A2 (competition car’), and the 1950 Skoda VOS (‘luxury classic’).  While the Alfa took the top award, the Red Flag Honqi was awarded a special Jury Prize, while the Porsche 911 Targa, along with a 1957 Hansa 2400 Pullman and a Bentley Mulsanne, won awards based on the jury’s personal favourites.

  More than 20,000 produced from 2008-2010 need replacement washer jets, since they may rust and then overheat, causing a localised fire. Just over 4200 Mercedes-Benz E-Class models have been recalled because a connector in the wiring harness can fail, resulting in the fuel pump cutting out and the vehicle stalling. 3300 examples of the Toyota Prius produced between August 2016 and October 2016 have been recalled to have adjustments to the foot operated parking brake, which may stop engaging properly over time.

  The appetite for rare, high quality, low mileage modern classics does not appear to be slowing. A 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, with just 885 miles from new, sold for £202,500. From Munich, another very rare car, a 1990 BMW E30 M3 Convertible, sold for £59,625, more than £20,000 over its lower estimate.
