  • Rust - Stop It Now!!! 10 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Hi - Not quite sure if this belongs in Technical Matters but I\'m sure it will get moved if it does. As you may have guessed from the apt title, I need to get rid of some rust. It\'s a tiny tiny amount and apparently a common problem on the rear of Focuses (Foci?). Anyway - what\'s the best thing to do to get rid of it - like I said, it\'s a tiny amount but there is a silver effect bar on the boot making sanding difficult.
  • Ford Mondeo Remote Key 8 Jul 2004 (Forum)
There are quite a few appearing on Ebay from time-to-time, but I'm unsure of how many different types of key there are. My Ford Mondeo is one of the later Mark 2's which has no red key and has a 3 button remote. Most of the remote keys that I see on Ebay are the 3 button types, but sellers say they're for the Focus or 01 Mondeo. Does anyone know whether the later Mark 2's use the same remote key as the Mark 3's, or are they different?
  • Avon ZZ1 Tyres 28 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Hi all, I am collecting an X reg Mondeo 1.8 Zetec on Monday. All four tyres on the vehicle are in good order treadwise, two Avon ZZ1's on the front and a pair of Avon ZZ3's on the back. The problem is that I have read on a tyre forum that some people have found the ZZ1's to be almost lethal in certain road/weather conditions on certain vehicles.
  • see if I care..... 15 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Hoses, belts, rad and coolant seem A OK so left them alone. The a/c is the old Bendix compressor out of the ark and used on every US car in the 50\'s/60\'s, so I had a leak test and I got it refilled with Freon and so far so good. But these are really old stuff so it\'s a toss-up between a rebuild or a non-standard Nippon Denso. I live in the tropics, today it\'s 37 C so believe me good a/c is a must.

  • Astra 1.4i sidewindow 31 Jan 2003 (Forum)
My problem is that the window at drivers door will go slowly down a couple of milli- meters, the window will then be a little noise. It´s a -92 modell with mechanics windows. I don´t know if the slide holds the window up or if it´s something in the handle mechanics. Roland
