  • Baseball Cap Brigade 15 Sep 2003 (Forum)
It seems they are no longer interested in Ford/Vauxhall tinware, but are belting around in old Merc 190`s and old E 30 BMW`s. Is it any wonder that BeeM drivers (and soon Mercs) are getting such a bad reputation ????
  • Classic Car Insurance 6 Sep 2003 (Forum)
Was going to get a couple of quotes but there appears to be a whole multitude of brokers out there - can anyone recommend any of them? Am looking to insure a late 60's/early 70's car on (most likely) a 9k per annum policy if it makes any difference. Many thanks in advance - Dan
  • An excellent website 4 Mar 2002 (Forum)
In case anyone misses the thread, thanks to MOOSH posting on 2 March - check this site - well worth half an hour of anyone\'s time who may be slightly interested in motoring which, let\'s face it, you wouldn\'t be here otherwise! http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/index.html?menu.html&engineoil_bible.html

Why's it taken Ford so long to produce its hot Mondeo. This was due in January, and now it seems that it will be launched in May. Have they had problems? Looking...
  • see if I care..... 15 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Hoses, belts, rad and coolant seem A OK so left them alone. The a/c is the old Bendix compressor out of the ark and used on every US car in the 50\'s/60\'s, so I had a leak test and I got it refilled with Freon and so far so good. But these are really old stuff so it\'s a toss-up between a rebuild or a non-standard Nippon Denso. I live in the tropics, today it\'s 37 C so believe me good a/c is a must.

  • Define your tipping point, to motoring discourtesy 14 Dec 2009 (Forum)
There`s a stretch of road near here where cars park both sides and it`s effectively one lane only, down the middle. You don`t see the car approaching until the last second, due to a bend, so it`s a split second decision whether to pull in and flash the other car through - or press straight on hoping he will wait or there may be a gap in the middle to pull into.
  • Peugeot - 1990 2.5DT J5 vacuum pump question 9 Jun 2008 (Forum)
s certainly less than I would expect from a petrol car off the manifold? I don?t want to spend £150 on a new pump if the old one is working as intended. Many thanks, Dom
  • Ford Fiesta Mk 4 - What\'s wrong? 6 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Also, the car has started to hold high revs even on \'idle\' so instead of idling at 1000 revs, it does it at 2. Again, this is occasional and I\'m not too bothered about that because my Dad\'s Focus did exactly the same thing and then stopped. ANy ideas? Thanks
  • BP Diesel, rough running. Vauxhall Omega 15 May 2004 (Forum)
It\'s mostly BP round my way and I\'d be interested to hear anyone elses experiences. As I said, I thought diesel was diesel, but it would appear not.
  • Vectra, cold low idle surge? 9 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I say *sounds* because that\'s the only symptom - the car doesn\'t actually physically surge, or not that I can tell - it just sounds as though it does. At higher speeds the engine seems fine and once warmed up it\'s ok at lower speeds to, so I\'m at a loss.

Year 2000 Fiesta with fog lights set into the front bumper. N/S unit is fine but O/S unit is damp inside with green mould forming. Is this a known/common fault? Are these sealed units or can anything be done to clean/dry the unit out and prevent it happening again ?
