  An attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of classic cars has been put on hold becuse not enough people had committed to taking part. The event was due to take place in Coventry on June 14, but organisers say owners needed more time to register.

  The car took part in a high speed test on an autobahn, took a drive around the Berlin, plus a hot lap of the EuroSpeedway, Lausitz. With an excellent interior, 79,100 miles on the clock, a fault-free engine and fully working electrics, the car could fetch up to £10,500.

  This is an option that will sit alongside wire wheels that have been a distinctive feature on the car since launch. The spokes of the 19in alloy wheels, which have been uniquely designed in-house by the David Brown Automotive design team, are reminiscent of the Union Jack.   Lightweight Jaguar E-type makes European debut at Goodwood Revival 2 Sep 2014 (News)
  Away from the on-track racing, numerous historic Jaguar models will be present with team support cars dotted around the scenic paddocks, and examples of almost every classic Jaguar model parked-up in the huge Revival Car Show car park for pre-1966 vehicles, based just over the road opposite the main Goodwood circuit entrance.

  A Grand Monday: Mini Mayfair 16 Jun 2014 (News)
  Tinted glass was fitted as standard on the Mayfair and it also features a stereo radio cassette – although you’ll have to raid the local charity shop to find any music to play on it. This particular car is being sold with a full 12 month MoT and six months tax. According to the seller, it has been used daily for the past three years and has covered 67,500 miles.   Historic sports cars and classic exotica topped the bill at Silverstone Auctions’ May Sale on 24 May, with Ferraris and Porsches smashing their pre-sale estimates as enthusiasts fought it out for the best cars.

  Race Retro: Jigsaw Racing challenged to build replica Le Mans Spitfire in three days 21 Feb 2014 (News)
  Triumph specialist Jigsaw Racing challenged its team of mechanics to build a complete replica in just three days, with the final car set to be driven out of the show hall on the final day of the show. The replica is being built from individual components over the duration of the show, with Jigsaw Racing hoping to drive the car out of the show on its final day, Sunday 23 February.   “It’s a huge project, but the lads are confident of finishing it before the show ends on Sunday,” said Jigsaw Racing’s Ross Brown.

  Here's an unusual one, but given Skoda's involvement in professional cycling, and the huge interest the sport currently enjoys, it was only a matter of time before the Czech car manufacturer pitted man versus bike in the name of entertainment. Olympic gold medallist Ed Clancy took on a challenge of two wheels versus four, testing his downhill racing skills against the all-new Skoda Octavia vRS in a race against the clock.

  Revival parking extended to the infield 19 Jul 2013 (News)
  Goodwood is introducing a new infield parking area at the 2013 Revival (13-15 September). The new Revival infield car park – known as the Hawthorn Infield Parking - allows owners of pre-1966 vehicles the option to become an integral part of the Goodwood Revival.   Any car or commercial built and registered before the end of 1966 should be eligible at Goodwood’s discretion for entry into the new Hawthorn infield parking area, although for this inaugural year motorcycles can not be permitted.

  It's a new C-sector saloon designed for conservative Chinese buyers, and although it's billed as a concept, expect a toned-down version for production within the next couple of years. Unlike the Europe, where hatchback is king, the Chinese car market is dominated by saloons - even the smaller B- and C-sectors are dominated by three-box cars simply unseen in Europe.
