Severn Crossing tolls to be scrapped by end of 2018 22 Jul 2017 (News)
The toll for using the Severn Crossing when entering Wales from England will be scrapped by the end of 2018. It will now be free for all road users - motorbikes, cars, vans and HGVs - meaning around 25 million drivers a year travelling on the M4 and M48 will no longer have to pay. The charge currently stands at £6.70 for cars and £20 for HGVs. -
Classics head to Snetterton for endurance race 16 Aug 2016 (News)
A host of classic cars will be heading to Norfolk’s Snetteron circuit for an endurance race in October. The event, which is hosted by the MG Car Club, sees drivers compete on the 200 circuit on Sunday, 2 October. Only 26 teams can enter with each one consisting of three to six drivers and an allocated garage. -

Ferdinand Porsche, who had joined Daimler in 1923, brought significant influence to the supercharged cars for demanding drivers. Mercedes had unveiled two supercharged production models at the 1921 Berlin Show, and had campaigned a supercharged racing car in the 1922 Targa Florio Race in Sicily, all of them designed by the studio of chief designer Paul Daimler. -

Anniversary of Blue Bird’s 150mph speed record celebrated 23 Jul 2015 (News)
It was a year later, at the same place, that the 150mph mark was passed. The project to rebuild the car began in January 2014 after the car was passed from pillar to post following on from Sir Malcolm selling it. It was restored originally in 1957 but over the following decades fell into disrepair, culminating in an incident in 1993 when a piston decided it didn’t want to live in the engine any more and swiftly exited stage left. -

Brighton Speed Trials under threat from local authorities 24 Dec 2013 (News)
The Speed Trials has been running in Brighton since 1905 and is one of the UK's longest running car event - taking the form of a sprint for some of the UK’s best race cars and motorcycles along Madeira Drive.
