Police priorities 31 Oct 2003 (Forum)
She then phoned me. 45 mins later, the Police had not arrived {0.7 miles from police station to car park}, so I drove down in the othet car to see. A street away from my wife?s work, I saw a police car, the PC had got out and was booking a car parked on double yellow lines. I got to my wife?s work and survey the damage ? in the end cost about £350 to fix. Anyway ? soon the Police arrive ? -
Old VW Polo intermittant power loss 24 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Other \'signs of age\' and general recent features have been: - The idle jet has become blocked a couple of times. Easily cleared by AA/mechanic. - The (2 month old) fuel filter put in at the car\'s last service is very dirty for such a new filter. - Developed a slight oil leak. (Typically a few isolated drops on the ground below the engine after a drive). - Developed a slight coolant leak. -

Harwich docks 8 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Went down to Harwich docks yesterday to pick up my imported BMW 320d. When I got to the collection pound, the place was mainly filled with Golf's Rav 4's a few Merc Sports Coupes and BMW's! As I pulled up, two transporter loads of Rav 4's and BMW's were leaving. Another transport company collected a Boxter convertible and one couple came to collect their Golf and someone else to collect a Merc! -

The Price of Image 26 Mar 2002 (Forum)
A comment in Steve Cropley?s Autocar column caught my eye ?I see a day when even buyers of ?quality? cars won?t want to pay prices inflated by something as unimportant as image?. He had been talking about a quote from Opel-Vauxhall? -
LPG conversions 20 Nov 2001 (Forum)
A Range Rover is a thirsty vehicle compared with most saloon cars and would seem to be a suitable candidate for treatment. A cheap but sound 70's or 80's vehicle would suit my purposes. Having carried out practically every mechanical procedure there is on a wide range of vehicles I find it unlikely that fitting a gas conversion would be beyond my ability and with this in mind I approached a local gas conversion specialist to enquire about the price of conversion kits. -
Retreat on Speed cameras? We will see 30 Oct 2001 (Forum)
Mobile units can only be used ?in conspicuous site visible to oncoming traffic? It was predicted that Labour?s decision to expand the camera network would see prosecutions soar from 1 million per year to 3.5 million by 2004. Ends. Some of this is already contained in the ACPO guidelines and ignored by some traffic officers. -

Peugeot 207 CC - Engine overheating. 4 Sep 2015 (Forum)
After about a 20 minute warm up on a motorway, the fan comes on and the temp gauge heads up to the boiling point. After about a 1to 2 hour cooling period. Then it`s fine for a week or two of regular trips. The garage computer could`nt find the fault. (sticking thermostat maybe) -

Tyre ratings 13 Jan 2013 (Forum)
I was having a quick look through a couple of the online tyre sales sites and note that they are now using the new EC ratings for noise, wet grip and rolling resistance. How reliable are these? The tyres on my S-Max are rated as C for resistance, B for grip and 76dB. The other tyres available in my size all appear to be much quieter. How much difference will I notice inside the car?
