  Needing an estate car, I was settled on a Mondoe estate. With about £5000 to spend I was settled on buying one 3 / 4 years old. However, I have seen some advertised in Auto Trader in the salvage section at just a year old for that sort of money.

   Often I’ve seen drivers peering into the sun in the afternoon and not seeming to know what the visors are for.  That seems to me to be quite hazardous. Because my old sunglasses are nearing the end of life I have at last bought a new pair to replace them.  The new pair are the real thing, polarised, something that I thought the old pair were, but the effects show that the old pair, although good, were not polarised.

  Would start when they attached their computer. It needed to go to another garage with a more sophisticated computer to diagnose fault. I drove car to new garage. It limped the 8 miles driving very badly. New garage diagnosed cam shaft sensor in audible. New garage told old garage it was a timing issue. Took car back to old garage. Got voicemail message saying old garage will pay new garage to time it up as they don't have the correct tools to do it.

  I guess when it is time for it's November service, I'll see how much the dealer will charge for just an oil change compared to a year 5 service. Ive noticed the same old questions keep cropping up: what's the best \ cheapest dashcam, what's the best car for a 20 \ 70 year old, what's the best automatic small car etc, etc.

  One new C32 was in a dealership somewhere but it was the wrong colour and specification. The garage offered to get this car for her but would be happiest to give her her old C43 back again three months later! No price or delivery date for the new C55 yet. Where does she stand? She doesn\'t want her old car back, doesn\'t want a black C32 with funny spec.

  Hello, I'm wiondering if anyone could recommend a good but reasonably-priced battery charger? I have an old charger which is fine for my old car with a lead acid battery, but I believe they aren't suitable for AGM and EFB batteries.  I need one that will do for both as my wife's car has the AGM battery and mine has an EFB and start/stop usage.

  hi i had a replacement engine put in my vehicle and its now doing around 15 mpg i took the vehicle back to the local garage and they put my old injectors in it. they had engine  had already used  my old  fuel pump put on it so they said it would be fine now as it would all be the same set up but  now when the car is ticking  over the car seems to shake  the rev counter is showing correct idle limit and its still doing about 15 mpg and seems sluggish still.help

  With a budget of around £5-6k, and annual mileage of around 8,000 miles, I don't know whether or not to go for: A 4 year old VW Passat 1.6 Diesel with +140K miles on the clock A 7 year old Mazda 2.0 Diesel with 65K miles on the clock A 5 year old Skoda Octavia 1.6 with 40K miles on the clock A 5 year old Ford Mondeo, with 60K miles on the clock Or am I missing a trick - and should I be looking for something comletely different!?

  A lovely young lady with legs that went on forever, allowed me inside to fidddle about. What a cracking looking car. This, Mr BMW man, is how to do Retro. UNlike the new mini, Fiat have captured the spirit of the old 500 superbly. Sure its bigger, than the old one, but all the styling cues of the old one have been carried over, including the inside where plastics have been cleverly made to look like painted metal dashboard.

  In fact any interesting ones in the loft you don't want? Be really amusing to read through them again knowing now what we know now of the average 1960s car. I do have loads of old Autocar/Motor mags but these mostly start around 1971 so the 1960s are poorly represented in my reading matter. Now if only Chris Watson was still here he'd have them for us in a flash...there was a guy with contacts.

  Long time lurker but first time poster,   Currently trying to decide on a new car to replace my current company car (Lexus CT 200h) wanting a much bigger vehicle thats good for long distance and around town. this will be my own purchase not a company car. do about 20000 miles a year and plan on keeping the car until 6 years old.

  I'm trying to find out average monthly running costs for used (1-3 years old) cars - any ideas where to look? Car Mags are very good for data for new cars (insurance, pence/mile, depreciation, service costs) but I'm looking for similar data for used cars. I'm about to change jobs and will give up a company car for a cash allowance - £400 per month after tax.
