  With some cars now being produced with F1 paddle shift gear change selectors; if you were to take your driving test in one of these, would you be categorised as passing your test using a manual gearbox, or auto?

  Very tempted by the Renault Megane 1.5dCi 106 on drive the deal at £5091 off mrrp = £10,459... Are the later Megane's any good, or should I avoid? If so, anyone got any other suggestions for a nice new diesel car circa £10k? Thanks

  Hi guys, just signed up to this forum, on a friend's recommended. anyway I have a Hyundai Accent 1.3 GSI, 2001. Its been a nice drive so far but recently I have noticed that the petrol just runs out so quick. Any suggestions guys??

  hi, I have just brought a 55 plate 1.6 LX focus i like the car drives well enough,but the road noise is quite bad it is fitted with bridgestone tyres,has anyone any idea's how to reduce the road noise. thanks slack.

  The idle speed of my Peugeot 406 HDI (1999, 68,000 miles) will not drop below 1000 RPM making driving difficult in slow moving traffic. The local Peugeot agent is unable to help despite charging £70 for connecting it to their diagnostic computer. Any ideas please?

  I've got an 03 53 punto 1.3 multijet diesel and the red engine symbol at the bottom of the rev counter comes on a minute or so after start up and stays on. Car drives as normal though, any one got any ideas what this could be?

  My parents have not long owned a 2002(my) 2.0vvti rav 4 auto.On average driving the vehicle fails to return more than 23-24mpg! allowing for it being an auto surely this can't be right?Has anybody else any experience of this or any suggestions?

  Am driving from the New Forest to Towcester tomorrow morning (Monday) planning to use the A34/M40 and wonder if anyone knows any major hold-ups at the moment - for a funeral so don't want to be late!! Planning to leave home around 9 am and leaving 3 hours for journey.

  1990 Civic stumbles while driving along, then comes right. Sometimes engine light comes on but indicates O2 sensor. This is not the true problem though. Have by-passed the Pump relay and swapped dizzy. No fix. Seems like fuel. Do pumps go bad intermittantly?

  I have a 53 plate Passat 130 sport which has developed a strange problem. When the lights are switched off the bootlid opens (via solenoid).it will also open when I drive, any ideas? {Shouting, ie, upper case text amended. DD}

  Have noticed recently some odd cats eyes on a small DC section of the A339 between Newbury and Basingstoke. They seem to contain flashing white led lights. The effect is quite mesmerising as you drive past them in the dark. Anyone know anything about them? Cheers HV

  I have always had a soft spot for French cars(no, not a bog in the south of Ireland)and once owned a Simca which was comfy and decent to drive. However, it tended to have bits drop off or rot away but it seemed to add to the character of the car. What are other peoples experiences of French motors?

  Not so long ago young drivers considered it "cool" to drive with rear foglights permanently on, day or night. I haven't noticed this lately so has this fashion been superseded by something else? Or have their rear foglight bulbs all burnt out through over-use?

  i have a 1998 audi 1.8Tse A6. the temp sensor warning light was flashing red today. engine and oil temp are fine and car drives as normal. what do you think has gone - the temp sensor? and is this an expensive part to replace? thanks dave

  Cold is fine, but when warm I have to dab the accelerator and then rev the engine otherwise it fades and dies before I have time to select drive and move off. Any thoughts?
