  • SUV - Buying advice sought please 20 Jun 2014 (Forum)
I currently have a Mitsubishi ASX petrol SUV which i bought originally for cash when it was about 9 months old and is now just over 3 years old and I am looking to part ex it before it gets much older and get another SUV.  I haven't quite decided yet which one I will go for but this time I will probably do it on a PCP or similar rather than getting a loan so I can change cars more frequently.
  • Ford C-MAX - New Grand C-Max 1.6TDCi - poor performance 13 Feb 2014 (Forum)
It makes driving up hills and getting out of junctions very tricky. On the whole it feels laggy and unresponsive, like the car is deliberately holding back. I realise the Grand is a bigger, heavier car than my old C-Max, but I would have thought performance should be better than this. It has improved somewhat over the last week (350 miles done) - maybe due to me getting used to the very short 1st gear, and maybe due to the engine loosening up.

  • Toyota Aygo (2005 - ) - Toyota Aygo Blue OR Ford Ka? 27 May 2009 (Forum)
I really need to start thinking about replacing my old car, and with the new government scrappage scheme, this seems like a good time. My current small car is a 1998 Nissan Micra 1.3 GX, but it really is starting to get old. It struggles to hit 60mph, it has a very poor safety rating, the fuel economy can't be brilliant, and the central locking is now completely bust.
  • Insurance on the rise?? 1 May 2008 (Forum)
The figures I was getting for new cars just makes me think I should go for whatever slightly older (but newer than mine) thing I feel like given that there doesnt seem to be a huge difference in their prices - £700 is crazy for an old Ka and I fear if my policy will go up next year on what I have now I may as well upgrade???
  • Service interval - Ford Mondeo 22 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I am now wondering when I should have it serviced next. Should it be on the anniversary of the first service, i.e. May 2007, or should it be when the car is 2 years old, September 2007 ? I only do about 8,000 miles a year so the mileage doesn't come into it as I will only have done about 21,500 miles by May 2007 and 24,200 miles by September 2007 anyway.
  • What causes Road Rage 31 Mar 2005 (Forum)

  • Why do people.... 24 Aug 2003 (Forum)
The company is going bust for a very good reason. Think Yaris' are desirable by young drivers? They're for 70 year old women. And they have no character. And are expensive. (same for Honda Jazz) Use large insurance companies for their car insurance? Its usually more expensive than using a specialist. Still use Kwik Fit/National Tyres?

  • My day. 10 Jul 2001 (Forum)
Aroung July each year I have a bad day, a very bad day, Today was that day. The worse car I look after comes for its yearly MOT/service. It's a 10yr old Seat Terra. For those lucky enough never to have noticed one they are cheap copies of a Fiat Panda in van form. If you have any concerns about trim quality on any current mainstream car just sit in one of these for two minutes without breaking somehing, that'll put things in perspective.
