Is it possible to disconnect a battery isolator without sounding the alarm on my Rover 45?

I keep a 10-year-old Rover 45 garaged abroad. I have fitted a simple battery isolator, and even after five months away it still starts first time on reconnection. The only problem is that I have been unable to devise a procedure which does not involve the alarm sounding when I reconnect the battery.

If you don't lose any codes by disconnecting the battery then no reason not to disconnect the battery. But most modern cars can lose radio codes and security codes if disconnected. On top of which the ECU 'clock' will stop.
