  • Secondhand Jaguar XE vs New 2021 Dacia Sandero - Luxury Secondhand vs New Small Car 9 Apr 2021 (Forum)
Hi All, Looking at getting another car but can’t decide on whether to get a secondhand Jaguar XE at £10000 or a new Dacia Sandero 2021 model based on Renault Clio. Mileage is about 10,000 to 13,000 but hearing mixed comments on Jaguar Servicing charges. I know the Jag will be a better ride and more luxurious but what about reliability and cost of unforeseen things like clutch etc on the Jaguar.

  • Suzuki Swift Sport - I don’t want a Turbo 2 Nov 2018 (Forum)
After looking around for a hot/ warm hatch that I plan to replace my current Toyota Yaris with next year. I find myself back to square one. I have test driven a 2016 Fiesta ST, VW Polo GTI and Renault Clio RS and find that although each one is very quick, they didn’t put a smile on my face like the Suzuki Swift Sport did, that until I drive a Toyota GT86 last week. My current car loves to rev and although these new turbo car are quick and efficient, they just sound synthetic and not the sound of an engine roaring through the gears, so that’s it then either a Suzuki Swift Sport or Toyota GT86 depending on what money I have left.

  • Best car for dog! 30 Aug 2015 (Forum)
I have looked at a Kia Venga, Hyundai ix20, Ford B-max, Vauxhall Mokka and a Peugeot 2008. The only thing I can really think might be suitable is maybe a Renault Kangoo? Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

  • Car Buying advice 16 Feb 2015 (Forum)
I'm hoping to get some advice and recommendations as feeling completely lost as to which car to choose. I sold my old beloved 01 plate Renault Scenic around 9 months ago. After toying with idea of a berlingo type car I eventually ended up with a Ford C-Max. Unfortunately I've ended up with a dog of a car that's given me nothing but trouble, and that I don't really like the look or feel of.
  • Reanault Modus Diesel Auto; Mazda 2 Petrol Auto - Robotised-clutch Gear Selector Fails to Engage 14 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Currently with a Renault Modus diesel, but also with an older Mazda 2, the semi-automatic robotised-clutch gear selector, when placed in neutral at traffic lights, sometimes fails to engage drive (first gear) to set off.
  • Sprinter;Transit;Transporter - Which - Hi Top Van for local Deliveries 10 May 2014 (Forum)
The van will be used on these local runs so we have concerns about DPF 's blocking as the van will not benefit from a long run except on the odd occasion. Understand the Vauxhall/ Renaults have a poor reliability record and have no knowledge of the new Transits. Heard good reports about the Sprinter/Transporter which I'm told are effectively the same van Can you help please

  • Mercedes citan - Mercedes Citan Combi passenger vehicle UK? 26 Apr 2013 (Forum)
Noticed on the n-cap story regarding the citan, it shows a combi version. Will the UK be getting a full passenger version of the citan? Since Renault pulled the kangoo, the choice has been limited to a fiat doblo, citroen berlingo multispace or the peugeot partner tepee. It appears GM have decided not to bring the Vauxhall combo combi passenger car to the UK which is soled on mainland europe as a Opel Combo Combi passenger car.
  • Ford Focus Estate - Ford Focus Mk1 - Petrol or Diesel? 27 Oct 2012 (Forum)
Hi all, seeking advice. I am looking to buy a 200-2001 Ford Focus Estate to replace a recently dead Renault 19 diesel. I like the fuel economy of the Focus diesels (hj's real mpg suggests 36mpg petrol vs 48mpg diesel) but I'm worried about the horror stories of older diesels failing expensively (the DMF problem).
  • Grand Scenic 1.6 VVT Dynamique (2005) - Grand Scenic servicing suggestions? 3 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Is it worth finding a mechanic with the ability to access the onboard computer to check for any problems? Thought it might be best to find a Renault mechanic..? Cheers
  • Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 1996 1.25 auto - Stalling problem 2 May 2011 (Forum)
It stalls after turning the engine on and trying to put it into drive. The way I have to press the brake in to put the car into drive is very different to my hubbys Renault Laguna RT (R Reg). It always seems to shudder when putting into drive. Also it stutters a lot when slowing down, approaching junctions and pulling off. Sometimes I think it is going to stall but doesn't.
  • what car to buy - opinions please?? 25 Jul 2010 (Forum)

  • Most comfortable modern car . . ? 24 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Realise this topic crops up for debate every few months, and the conclusion is usually a Renault or Peugeot from the 1980s, but what's the most comfortable car made within the last decade? Comfortable meaning quiet, good seats, good primary and secondary ride and so on. There are aspects of many cars that fit the bill, such as the seats in an S60, the primary ride of a 7-Series and secondary ride of the new Superb, the library like quiet of a Phaeton etc.
  • Honda Accord UK (2003 - 2008) - 04 2.2 engine swap, whats coded and whats not? 13 Oct 2009 (Forum)
I am getting the donor engine complete with injectors and turbo etc still attached, does anyone know if any of this is coded to the ECU and will require programming in etc? The injectors dont look too dissimilar to later renault dci types which I know have to be coded in hence the reason for checking. Thanks. PS all tips welcome, although the old unit is ready to lift now.
