  Fiat Dino Spider makes £83,600 at auction 8 Mar 2017 (News)
  A 1967 Fiat Dino Spider smashed its £45,000-£60,000 estimate to sell for £83,600 at Barons’ Sandown Park sale on February 28. Second lot behind the Pininfarina-bodied convertible was a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 190SL. Meanwhile, a one-owner 1985 Ford Granada sold for £3850. The meticulously maintained Ghia 2.8i was expected to make up to £6000 when it went across the block.

  .’ Bonhams sale at the 50 th annual Autojumble saw more than 400 lots of motor cars, motorcycles, and rare automobilia go under the hammer, collectively achieving a grand total of £3.1million for the sale, with 84% of lots sold. Also selling well was a 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300 S Coupé. Originally owned by King Hussein of Jordan. After an intense bidding battle, the 300 S finally sold to a European bidder for £292,700. Further highlights of the auction include a 1939 Brough Superior 982cc SS100 motorcycle, sold for £113,100, a 1936 Cord Sportsman 812 Supercharged, sold for £100,060, and a 1963 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider soared above estimate to achieve £92,220.

  The top-seller of the day at Barons on 30th October was a blue 1962 Mercedes-Benz 190SL, which, after a prolonged bidding battle between a bidder in the hall and a phone bidder calling from Germany, eventually went to the British buyer for £32,500. A silver 2000 Ferrari 456M GTA achieved £28,000, while a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 sold for £14,230 which was above reserve.

  After rumoured quality set-backs, which delayed the launch, Mercedes Benz is now happy with the build of its new small MPV and UK sales will start on 16th May. The Vaneo is 4.2 metres long, with a 2.9 metre wheelbase. It has a revised version of the sandwich floor concept pioneered in the A-Class, strengthened because of the larger capacity and retains the A-Class’s high driving position, adding a huge passenger compartment and load area.
