Hi there At the moment, I drive a Peugeot 308 (new model - 14 plate) on Motability; my brother is disabled and I'm the nominated driver. However, very soon my brother will be going into long term care and I will have to hand back the Motability car. -
E Class 270 Cdi - Looking at buying E 270 CDi 30 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Hi Have an oppertunity to buy an E Class 270 CDi from a family friend. The Car belonged to her husband who passed away. She doesn't drive so is looking to move it on. Its an 04 plate which i realise is getting on a bit. Had a look at the car this afternoon and had a test drive it has been very well looked after cosmetically. Checked all the Mot's from the last 6 years or so their was an advisory regarding brake pipe corrosion. their was a receipt for new brake pipes pads and discs from last year so I guess that's sorted. -

Hey I have a vauxhall astra 2006 1.6L, around 2/3 days ago as i was driving it I began to hear this strange ticking/pumping noise coming from the engine/top of the dashboard (I can't seem to pinpoint the exact location) now this noise is not a constant noise it seems to just happen every couple of minutes. -
Advice on a 3-4 year old hatchback needed ! :) 16 Sep 2015 (Forum)
I do plan to commute, and I do plan to do long drives on the weekends, so I am guessing an 1.2 engine or such wouldn't cut it for me. However - which is the best multipurpose hatchback of 3-4 years I should be looking into? -
BMW 330D E90 - BMW E90 330D NON C.A KEY FOBS DEAD. HELP! 28 Aug 2015 (Forum)
I have just bought a fab BMW, but i have the problem mentioned above. These should charge in the ignition whilst driving, and are supposed to be 'sealed for life' None of the buttons work, on either fob. I can unlock the doors manually with key, and the fobs work in dash, for driving, but the buttons don't! When i unlock manually, the alarm goes off as soon as i open the door though. -
Volvo S60 2.4 Diesel reg 2011 (low mileage) - Dashboard Message " LOW BATTERY ! " 6 Apr 2015 (Forum)
An elderly neighbour has a 4 year old Volvo S60 Diesel, due to illness the car is rarely used. I have been driving it weekly to try and keep the battery charged, however in recent weeks even after a 25 mile main road drive when I stop the car & switch off the ignition I notice the dashboard display message " LOW BATTERY !". -
Ford Fiesta - Specsavers Suspension of Licence 2 Jan 2015 (Forum)
A month previously my relative had their eyes tested at another well known High Street opticians and was specifically told their eyes were fine to continue driving. My relative went back there after learning their licence had been revoked. The optician there and then did a retest and said again their eyes were more than adequate to continue driving. -
Audi A4 B7 (2005 - 2008) - 2007 - Possible Suspension Problem 25 Sep 2014 (Forum)
I got the Audi dealer to have a look and they came back with the usual 'no fault found'. I am convinced that the car still doesn't drive properly, and was wondering if any VW/Audi experts out there know of any issues that could cause this. There are none of the usual knocks or clunks from the suspension as is usually the case with worn VaG multilink suspension. -
2007 Chevrolet Kalos 1.4L 16v. - Sticky exhaust valves. 21 Aug 2014 (Forum)
My car starts fine every time, but if it's started from cold and then driven immediately it will start to misfire about a minute later. The harder I try to drive it the more severe the problem becomes, until after a few minutes it'll gradually clear and then run perfectly fine again. Sometimes the fault code P0300, random multiple misfire will be generated. -
Honda CR-V - Disconnecting a faulty alternator 6 Aug 2014 (Forum)
It looks like there's a short-circuit somewhere because it gets hot and smokes when the battery is connected. I've got a replacement alternator, and now need to drive the car about two miles to the mechanic to get it fitted. I've got the battery charged, so will have no problem starting the car and driving it for a couple of miles without the alternator running, but I want to disconnect the alternator so it doesn't flatten the battery or (worst case) start a fire. -
Car for employees 16 Jul 2014 (Forum)
In a few months time will need to get at least two and possibly three cars for staff members. Whilst they do not drive huge mileages, they will be driving regularly for work , although only between 4,500 and 9,000 miles pa. One member of staff already has a company car (a three door Clio petrol) which he seems happy with but next April it will be four years old and will have done 60,000 miles in total including his own mileage. -
7.5t Truck Hire - Few Questions 14 Jul 2014 (Forum)
- someone mentioned that these vehicles have two gearboxes so would need some training to drive but the hire company say it's only one and just like driving a Luton. Why would there be confusion here? - I have a C1 license under the grandfather rights, the DVLA have confirmed it's active until I'm 70. -
2003 Audi A4 Tdi Sport - 2003 Audi A4 can't turn hazards off 29 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Hi the strangest thing happened to my Dads car tonight. The hazards came on whilst driving and couldn't be switched off. He parked up on the drive and we managed to turn them off with the hazard switch. They then came on again a few minutes later and stayed on for maybe 30-40 seconds then went off. -
First ding! 19 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Or is there anyone who has never had even a minor scrape? I haven't had any incidents for a few years, but I do drive very slowly these days, especially now that I am forty! My last ding was clipping a wing mirror in our first Doblo about 4 years ago, and the mirror completely shattered! Oh, and I did drive into a concrete bollard in a petrol station but we won't mention that! -
Mercedes C220 CDi Sport Auto - 2006 Mercedes C220 CDi Sport help needed.... 30 Mar 2014 (Forum)
I purchased this car yesterday from a garage 185 miles away yesterday. Before I did the test drive, I tried to release the parking brake but for some reason the warning light 'Release Parking Brake' kept beeping at me. Just could not release it. A sales member had a look and eventually put it in reverse, then into drive and the light came off... -
Ford B-MAX 1.6 petrol auto - Miss firing been back to garage 4 times 27 Mar 2014 (Forum)
Hi bought new bmax August last year it's been back to Bristol Street 4 times, no fault showing on dashboard so it has to be warm and miss firing when I take it in, if I turn it off I don't know when the fault will show again. The worst thing is when fault starts I lose acceleration I can only drive 30 mph which is so dangerous on the motorway or most country roads ( they say it's the car protecting itself). I have very poor health hence buying a car with sliding doors, so I am inclined to not drive it cos of the terrible hassle having hooting angry line of cars trying to overtake a brand new car so of course it can't have a fault..... -

BMW 3 or 5 series - 320d SE or 520d SE - I am thinking of returning to BMW and buying used 19 Feb 2014 (Forum)
I had both cars before from Approved Used BMWs dealerships. They cost more but were of quality and reliable. I loved the 3-series but found the I-drive on the 5-series fiddly. I now drive a Honda CRv at the moment. A great allround family car. But we have two in the family so only need one. I can now go back to my BMW. Where should I buy - I have seen great looking deals at Big Motoring World. -
