Hyundai Veloster - Hyundai Veloster 22 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Was at Woburn Safari Park today test-driving (I know, I know – I spend my life test-driving but not purchasing ...) the Hyundai i40 Tourer. It's pretty damn fine in fact (well, the the 1.7 CRDI 136PS Premium auto variant was to my mind) – although I obviously couldn't put it through it's paces whilst inching round the lion enclosure, etc. -
Slow punctures and tyre pressure 30 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Anyway I inspected the tyre and it seems fine, and I would expect that a ceramic cup would not really damage the tyre. However, it made me wonder, how exactly would I spot a slow puncture early? Would I just check the tyre pressure a couple of times over the next day? -
Vauxhall Corsa D (2006 - ) - 06 1.3 Yellow engine 'spanner' and missing 17 Apr 2009 (Forum)
The rest of the journey is a small amount more 30MPH, then up onto a dual carriageway and 70MPH all the way. Both times, it's never murmured at the 70MPH bit, and if I park up and restart, the yellow light has gone. First time it did this it was due a service, garage didn't find a fault code, or if they did, they didn't report it to me. It's been fine for 4 months since then, but happened again this morning, exactly the same circumstances. -
The most economical... 16 Jul 2008 (Forum)
She's only small so driving positions are unlikely to bug her, but she does want good visibility and something very easy to park! -

SORN'ed vehicle and Producer - HELP! 25 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I acknowledge I am in the wrong for having the vehicle on the road without tax and am fully prepared to pay a fine. Can anyone clarify what penalties I may get for this and will I have to go to court and ultimately end up with a criminal record?Up until now I have a clean licence and no criminal record. Your help would be greatly appreciated. -
Vauxhall Astra Heater 11 Nov 2003 (Forum)
The tempreture gauge on the dash is also acting a little strange - its usually in the middle but now it seems the be dropping, sometimes even into the blue area even after having been driving (well parking) around the M25 for 40 minutes! I just dont' know what to do now - is there something I have't done - the oil and water levels are fine - do I need antifreeze (i'm south african and we don't have that problem & I think the mechanic has done it already). -
ECU/ Diesel ! 14 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I cleaned the obvious elec contacts/ earths, and went for another drive. Four miles...it started cutting in and out (again inc rev counter flicking on/ off)- I parked up, ten minutes later started fine and drove home. Is it an ECU thingy problem ?? If so where located/ how many of them/ where to get one ?. LAST question - I `like` diesels, and would wish to convert the car. -
Vectra Multiplay CD problem - update. 10 Jun 2002 (Forum)
The CD's work fine in all other home and computer CD players. 2. More expense at trying different brands of CD-R's again. Two particular brands used to work, then they go and change the design. As you have to generally buy 5 to 10 at a time, I now have 50 or so blank CD-R's kicking around. 3. -
Worn Ford key 21 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Sister in law got stuck outside her local chipper last night in her fiesta (mid 90's I think) she could turn the key in the ignition, but with no resistance, there was no electrical activity and the steering lock would not come off, so the car could not even be towed. Sods law kicked in and where it was parked turned into a clearway in the morning! I was surprised to find how easy it was to ' hot wire' the car (can be done with a screwdriver and no damage, any wonder car theft is such a problem!!) however the steering lock was a pig to get off, and I really did not want to break it just to get it home... with alot of swearing and fiddling we got it off and got the car home, only to find that the spare key worked fine, and the key was at fault not the ignition barrel, DOH! -
K Reg Volvo 440 - Demand from HM Courts & Tribunal Service from 2005 18 Nov 2011 (Forum)
As for the items from 2008 and 2009, again, I'm doing this to the best of my ability and memory: I believe they were tickets I received when I was at a 'loading area.' I readily admit that I DO park in these locations on the occasion when I collect human remains from Funeral Directors. I am a priest and approximately 20-30 times a year I park, go into a funeral director's to collect the ashes of someone whose funeral I have celebrated. -
Abs and handbrake light 10 Nov 2020 (Forum)
But later while going to town the minute I get to the main road the noise is there, but now I have an abs light and handbrake light having a disco. I parked up stuck the handbrake on and tried reversing, the handbrake is working fine it is holding the car. The light goes on and off when handbrake is released and engaged, it’s just decided it will come on while driving and the abs light has decided it wants to join in too. -
BMW 320d SE (07 plate) - Car cutting out 14 Jan 2013 (Forum)
I pulled up to the side, then started it up again, and drove to a car park, no warning lights throughout all this. Started the car again, accelerated fast in first and into second gear and it cut out again, displaying the triangle with an explanation mark and a round arrow warning light (something to do with DSC or DTC?) -
peugeot 206 2.0 hdi 2001 - engine cutting out 16 Nov 2011 (Forum)
We bought it 3 months ago (from a farmer) and althought the engine was fine and she was a bit battered and bruised she seemed solid enough. Haha...we have since had to change the full exhaust including cat because she had been patched and made up. the low pressure pump had to be changed, axel, tyres...the list goes on!! -
BMW 5 Series E60 - High rate of battery discharge & starting problems 7 Dec 2012 (Forum)
On Sunday morning, when the car was cold, I started it up and it was very sluggish to get going. Once it fired up, it was absolutely fine. However, I noticed a message on the i-drive system stating "high rate of battery discharge". We drove to Winchester for the day and the car was absolutely fine, once again. We parked up all day, it started fine at the end of the day and drove home. -
All - Indicators 23 Feb 2022 (Forum)
2 ~ In the truck, reverse lights on, working lights on ( orange beacon ) & hazard lights. waiting for cars to pass before reversing into a side road to park up for a delivery with the crane, 3 instructors giving lessons and not 1 of them indicating to go around this vehicle despite having to go on the wrong side of the road. And wrong indicaters on roundabout all day. -
Ford fiesta 1.6 petrol 2007 - Engine tapping noise 7 Apr 2021 (Forum)
If I rev the car up you can't hear it but if I keep the revs steady at that rpm range you can hear the rattle/ticking. It's worse when driving past parked cars and built up areas as I can hear it bouncing of which makes it sound louder. The engine is running really well and pulls fine with no problem except for this noise. The car has been serviced by me every 6 months since owning it and I don't rag it around other than a few b Road blasts when the oil is up too temperature. -
Any / any - Looking for a car but I’m lost please help b 19 Nov 2019 (Forum)
Driving me round the bend literally! I’m looking at a car for me and my son. I’m a single dad so money is tight ! A small car is fine as I have a small drive but will consider all can always park on road. Ideally looking for reliability to do at least 40 miles a day and then adventures on the weekend ! Don’t want to spend money on repairs and other issues. -
Up - How we're geting stiffed 18 Jun 2018 (Forum)
Even a Zoe is exspensive, and thats small. Do we all live with a garage, driveway, or even off street parking? Nope. Hybrid? Still expensive. As consumers we've been painted into a corner. -
Most unused motorway service areas 5 Jan 2018 (Forum)
At 6pm yesterday, we were the only customers, despite the M74 being fairly busy. Other than the car park (which was in near darkness and the surface was worn out to say the least), the facilities were fine if a little dated, and the food from Costa the same as at any other Costa. To add to the experience, they had 'Roadchef FM' playing (which I didn't realise any company did any more) with adverts telling us about new facilities at Rownhams services (which must be about 500 miles away!)
