  • A4 Avant 51 - headlights for France 3 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I would like to adjust my headlights for driving in France? I am informed that there is "a lever" behind the headlight for flipping them? Can any one shed any light on where this lever might be - drivers side, passenger side, and what it might look like etc.
  • 04 Passat headlight adjust for France 21 May 2005 (Forum)
Hi there I'm about to go to France in the very near future and I've been told there's a switch to adjust the headlight beam for driving on the right. The headlights aren't easy to get to and I'm not having much luck - is this one for the garage to do?

  • France - 30 Years behind UK 21 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Expats have said that much of France is like the UK used to be some 30 years or so ago. I remember filling up with petrol close to Dover in past times (maybe even 30 years ago) because the price in France was so ferocious. It's like old times - diesel fuel is more or less the same price now after the Pound has dropped against the Euro, but petrol is going to cost you around £1.20 a litre.

  • France - Whats the "T" stand for on road 18 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Touring last year on the D420 in France we followed the signs & suddenly found ourselves on a very narrow road ( in fact so narrow had to turn caravan towing mirrors in & inch our way over a bridge) we then noticed on the next sign post that it was the D420t & the T was very small!

Driving to the south of France just after Christmas to do some skiing and sightseeing; fun drive in a day, via EuroTunnel ! - anyone got any advice who's been there : 1. Cheap place to stay ! Some of the chalets are mega-expensive, and there's only 2.5 of us... looks like it's cheaper to stay somewhere down the mountains... 2.
  • 2009 Tour de France [Read Only] 27 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Good day for Britain in the Tour de France. Mark Cavendish won the stage in Paris making his fifth stage win and a new British record. Bradley Wiggins came fourth overall and another British best. Congratulations to them both. I realise this isn't strictly motoring related, but could the Mods let it run to see if it has legs?
  • Michelin trackday tyres in France? 25 Jun 2005 (Forum)
There is only one distributor in the UK (hence the vastly inflated prices). I'm going to a trackday in France in July, and I wonder whether anyone could offer advice on if it's cheaper to get them there, and if they could suggest any retailers? TIA, Bruce
  • Buying car in France 18 Aug 2002 (Forum)
I'm off to be a student for a year near Paris. Despite being the proud owner of a 2001 VW Polo I want to buy a cheap car in France for use while I'm over there. The prangs that are synonymous with Parisian driving and the crime that a UK reg'd car attracts make it a no-brainer. Have up to £800 to spend - can anyone offer any advice?
