Peugeot 107 3 Door Urban - Was mine the only crap one then? 11 Jul 2015 (Forum)
Drive train, gearbox and gearchange awful. Without doubt the worst car we've ever owned. Got rid after 6 months. Handled well and good seats etc but just badly made in the Czech Toyota, Peugeot, Citroen Factory. -
2005 3 Series 318Ci - Clutch Problem BMW 318Ci 4 Jun 2015 (Forum)
No noise, vibrations or slippage, and the pedal feels normal. 63,000 miles, 10 years old, mainly city driving. If it needs a new clutch unit, what's the labour time? -
Golf TDI - Mk6. Reg. 2010 - Air con - fault. Garage says New compressor needed. 4 Apr 2015 (Forum)

fiesta mk 6 - locking wheel nuts fiesta mk 6 1 Sep 2014 (Forum)
Hi all I need some advice on locking wheel nuts that will fit original ford fiesta wheels, the ones where the nuts are concealed under a plastic disc. I have just bought this car and it didn't come with the key for the wheel lock nuts. I have managed to get the old lock nuts off by using the smaller socket method but now need new lock nuts with a key that fits. I have seen some that are 32 mm tall that are quoted to fit a mk6 but i am in doubt as to whether they will fit under the centre disc. -

The micra is 4 years old and has done 15000 miles. First 3 services at main dealer, 4th service at local garage - used in the past and good. 2 weeks after service the oil light comes on at tickover (600 rpm) when the car has been driven for about 5 miles. -

1998 Nissan Almera 1.4GX Model - '98 Almera 1.4 engine rattle after oil change 12 Aug 2013 (Forum)
I recently bought a low mileage '98 Nissan Almera - 1.4 Petrol, manual with 75,000 miles. I was told that the oil needs to be changed (trade car) but I didn't change it for about 1,000 miles and it drove perfect. I then changed the oil & filter, the old oil looked extremely dirty as if it wasn't chaged for 30 thousand miles or more. I bought Castrol oil for this and after the change a loud rattle occured from start up. -
Ford Focus 1.8Tdti Zetec - Slow starting - glow plugs suspected ? 23 Feb 2013 (Forum)
However, needs to be cranked 2 or 3 times (with starter engaged longer than usual) to start car in this cold weather. Never failed to start yet however. Seems to be firing on 2 only on these first attempts, so I suspect glow plugs. I've changed glows on Astra 1.7Cdti and also my old (non-common rail) diesel Escort, but never on a Focus. -

Best automatic for my requirements...? 6 Aug 2012 (Forum)
My annual milage is low, max 8000/year, and a lot of that is urban so decent fuel economy is a priority. I tend to prefer German cars and have had good experiences with VWs so that's mostly where I've been looking Budget £6-8k. Would prefer max 4-5 years old, max 60,000 miles on the clock So far for the money, I like the looks of VW Jetta 1.9 or 2.0 TDi DSG (2008) or BMW 320d (2007). -
Ford Mondeo 54 2.0 TDCI - Mondeo Battery RC? AH? Help!! 12 Apr 2012 (Forum)
Following recommendation from the Green Flag man to replace the battery as it is the original battery, I ordered a new one online by simply entering the registration plate of my car. It arrived today and after fitting it i noticed that the RC and Ah numbers do not match on the original and new batteries. On the old (original battery) its 125 RC and 70Ah and on the new battery RC 135 and Ah75. -
Honda Jazz 1.2 - Gear shift indicator faulty? 4 Mar 2012 (Forum)
I have never driven a car with a gear shift indicator before. I would expect the gear to stay at 4th when the speed is between 30--40 miles/hour and usually only change from 4th to 5th after the speed reaches 40+miles/hour. -
What bugs me about insects... 24 Feb 2012 (Forum)
But although there were loads of insects around, including dragonflies practically the size of hang gliders, they didn't end up all over the car. Answer, anyone? -
Driving Licence reminder 1 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Those with old-style paper licences are not affected. As well as 1.6million drivers’ photographs that have expired, a further 2.9million must be renewed by the end of 2012 - and over the next five years, almost 13million drivers must renew their photograph to abide by the law. -
Datsun Bluebird 1.8GL estate (1983 - 910 model) - Cavity Wax - Dinitrol, Waxoyl or other? 30 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Recently recommissioned this rare old car for daily driver and "preervation". It was undersealed quite well from new (by the dealer or importer I guess) and has so far survived remarkably well. Now that it is MOT'd and up and about, I need to rustproof it for future. -
Any - Is there are a directory of start/stop 21 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Hi, I may be looking for a good quality 5 door hatch, petrol (too many short runs to consider diesel), and with "Start/Stop" feature. I would look for something up to 3 years old, a little more if from one of the premium brands. Has anyone compiled a directory of makes/models that have been offered with start/stop? Cars I could be interested in: Audi A3, Seat Leon, VW Golf, VW Scirocco Citroen C4, Peugeot 307 or 308 BMW 1 series Volvo C30 Need to find something under £10K, so something that has been around a few years would be of interest, newer models won't be in my price range range yet Guy -
Vauxhall corsa c 1.0 12v - Exhaust Maniverter Problems Please answer 25 Oct 2011 (Forum)
I only discovered it because i was changing the heatshield that had rotted round the bolt holes and i dont know how long its been there. The crack looks fairly old as it is rusty . If it is not blowing, will it be ok to keep driving the car with the crack and is it likely to pass an MOT if i put the heatshield back on and forget about it? Will it survive the winter or will it get bigger? -
2001 Ford Mondeo Mk3 2.5 ghia x - Electrical problem cold weather 19 Oct 2011 (Forum)
Hi all I had an electrical problem with my car that went away in the spring but is now back again. It occurs first thing in the morning or after sunset, more specifically when the temp drops below 5 or 6 degrees. The boot won't release from the keyfob, the dashboard button or the manual hidden switch above the rear reg plate (i have to use the key the old fashioned way) and the doors randomly lock and unlock them selves both before and after ignition and whilst driving. -
Now what? 20 Sep 2011 (Forum)
I'd made up my mind to spend somewhere around 7 or 8K and get a 2 yr old used fiesta or focus diesel (possibly an econetic) as seeing as how I intend to keep the car 8-10 years I assumed the better economy and lower tax would be beneficial in the long run. However I'm now reading that the 1.6 diesel engines may give problems in the long term.
