  My MR2 is due its first MOT under my ownership, I know there are no issues apart for a blown fog light bulb. Went to replace the bulb today but the bulb is OK. The fog light has only two wires running to it, a pernament live and a earth (at leat that is what the colour suggests). Slightly confused guessing the earth is not an earth and has a broken link someplace. Anyone suggest how to start looking for the broken wire.

  Hello,    My everyday volvo has just been written off by the local rubbish lorry. and so i am now in need of a new run around. A friend of mine owns a garage and has a fiat croma 2005 1.9 JTD awaiting prep for sale. he has offered the car to me for a very good price with however the car requires a cambelt. FSH but no evidence of belt change, how difficult is it to do the belt and water pump on these engines?

  But is losing charge when connected to the car. Alternator charges at 14V., and engine will continue to run if positive battery disconnected. So Battery and alternator / rectifier appear to be working, but I seem to have a parasitic drain.  Currently working my way through the fuses, any other ideas?

  Hello Before I start dismantling my car to get to it, does anyone have any ideas or experience of the following problem. My blower/ heater motor appears to running properly at all 4 speeds but is making a horrible viabrating noise and actually isn’t pushing any air. I suspect there might be blockage somewhere or something stuck in the motors fan but I’d welcome any advice.

  It will do it maybe 10 or 12 times rapidly in succession then stop. This does not happen every time, and only ever happens after a short run, of which as a window cleaner i do a lot of. Any idea's what this might be and should i be concerned about it? Thanks.

  my friend has an 05 plate Ford Focus and she purchased a reversing sensor that fastens under the number plate, anyway we tried to get it up and running, everything was working fine (reversing light coming on) until we connected it all together, now she has no reverse light at all, we thought it may be the reversing switch which we changed and that was not the issue, anyway her MOT is due in September and we are needing to get this sorted.

  When engine is cold, it revs fine and goes into gear forward or reverse, though I still have it parked because when the engine has been running for 10 to 15 mins and warmed up sufficiently, it still revs? Good power etc but only in Neutral or Park,  put it in drive or reverse and no power, it just idles, move it to neutral or park, revs fine, perplexed, any ideas greatly appreciated, Brian

  Besides the school run I seem to be increasingly held up by what appears to be lack of fore thought by providers of services or deliveries.Surely the council contractors of refuse collection and street cleaning could avoid the the rush hour on the busiest main throughfares - after all there are plenty of minor roads and side streets.

  Ive had that cleaned out and the sparkplugs checked. when I drove home from having this done initially the fault was still there but after a few miles it run perfectly. I stopped at the shop and when I started up again the fault had returned. Ive got not warning lights up on dash. Any ideas??

  There seems to be a spate of thefts of entire fronts from Astras and Corsas in recent months (especially locally in West Yorkshire). I wonder why this is so: Do drivers of these run into things more often than drivers of other models? Is that because they tailgate more, not concentrate, have slow reactions, or do they have poor brakes and/or cheap ditchfnder tyres? Are front bumpers for these exceptionally costly, so worth stealing and are they easier to steal than from other models?

  Hi, Can anyone confirm what this pipe is referred to as please? If you look down on the focus engine it runs from the 'bar. that sits on top the radiator ( its the left hand side of the 2 pipes on the right hand side. The other end goes into the smaller port on the thermostat housing. http://i68.tinypic.com/2z4da3m.jpg I want to check what Im asking for in case I can get it anywhere other than ford?

  Would it be better using super unleaded such as shell opimax? I have read my manual and I think that it was made to run on normal 95RON petrol.

  Cannot believe how many posts there are on the net about BMW rims. So rather than throw good money after bad I am thinking of down sizeing and/or moving off run-flats. So what size and whoose rims and tyres to fit? 
• Toyota Avensis (2003 - 2008) - Out of Warranty Repairs - Cylinder Head Gasket 18 Sep 2015 (Forum)
  My 2008 Toyota Avensis has developed a Cylinder Head gasket problem - unfortunately it is out of warranty as it has done 67,000miles and the warranty runs out at 60,000miles. Estimated cost of repair £3,000 including a new cylinder head. Dealer has managed to get some concession on parts from Toyota and has knocked 10% off their normal labour rate but it still comes in at over £2,000.

  My 1.3 Fiesta has been over revving when the clutch is depressed so I have decided to have a good look under the engine bay, I have noticed this sensor was unplugged (marked A) and since plugging in the car seems to run smoother and the over revving is not as obvious.   Went to test a car prior to purchase. Everything good but brakes suspect. Pedal needed pumping and when engine running, pedal very slowly went to floor. Dealer sent car to servicing garage for brake service and bleed. No leaks at master and wheel cylinders were visible. Afterwards, brakes were not much better. Both dealer and serving garage said brakes were fine.

  Anyone had experience of poor tyre wear ? My Audi is a 2008late run model. I am on my third set of front tyres after 20,000 miles - total cost to date £700, Two sets of Continentals followed by Bridgestones this time but no apparent improvement. I do not drive the car hard so do not believe that it is my driving style.

  Their is water dripping from by the sump bolt / nut when engine is running. I am told it is ther water pump.     How much is it likely to cost to carry out work as I was told 4 hours labour if taken to garage ?
