  I had also been in contact with Volvo UK as intially I wanted an extended warranty as a show of good faith from Volvo that my car would be fine. They refused, although provided me with written assurance that they would take into account this episode outside of warranty period.

  Hi all. Happy owner of a new (to me) 2004 MK1 Volvo convertible. Electric roof works fine at present. However, I've read many a story of expensive roof repairs on these cars. So far, with the roof down, I have sprayed the metal parts with silicon grease, and used a rubber care item on the exposed rubber strips.

  Hi all My current car is at the end of its company lease period, so I have been tentatively looking for a replacement that will give us some savings both in leasing costs, Benefit in kind, emissions & MPG. A car of particular interest is the new Volvo D2. The manufacturer is claiming 81.3 MPG combined and 91.1 extra urban. This appears to be extremely good. Does anyone own one, and could tell me what sort of MPG figures are being returned ?

  Just recently bought the Volvo which has a fault of the oil light coming on when warmed up and displaying message "low oil pressure stop safely asap". Replaced the oil sensor switch and changed the oil. But again the car runs fine but after about five miles the light goes on and off and remains on then a little later.

  I had my 2002 Volvo V70 serviced at a main dealer. Two days later the gearbox failed due to low gearbox oil caused by a leak from a pipe from the oil cooler to the gearbox. The dealer stated that they do not check the oil level at the service - only if the find a leak, which they presumably missed.
