Can any owner comment on expereince with this car please? I feel a new car coming on. (I note Drive The Deal offers no discount.)

Well just the other day I test drove the 2.0 petrol manual SE Lux, and then the 2.0 diesel automatic SE Sport.
I currently drive a 2.0 MkV Golf GT and I have to say that the 2.0 C30 was well rubbish. You *really* had to work it to get any kind of performance out of it.
Also I felt that the SE (and therefore SE Lux) look of the car was incredibly mundane, whereas the sport actually looks the business.
I can't really comment on the diesel auto as I am allergic to both diesels and autos, but the ride is definitely better in the sport.
Also be wary of the colours, the 2 tone "white with brown" is actually a pale green with brown. The pearlescent blue was hideous, however (rather surprisingly) the FREE red passion colour on the sport was stunning.
I did have to say that I found the dealership to be pretty good too, I know he was there to get my money, but even so he was courteous, able to supply all the answers and honest about the car.
The other concern for me (even as a "single" bloke) is that the boot is miniscule and the lip is extremely high - if you don't pack light for your hols then I'd suggest sticking your suitcase in the backseats or investing in a pulley system for the boot :)
Oh - here's another strange thing - they all have the little sharks fin on - when quizzed though the sales guy told me that they don't actually contain an aerial unless you opt for the built in GSM phone.
Oh - and the S spec is pants, at the very least pay the extra and get the SE.
