Volvo C30 - Upgrading headlights - scot22

I have wondered if it is possible to upgrade headlights and, if it is, what amount of improvement could be expected for the outlay ? I do appreciate there are personal differences in what people want and it depends on what you pay.

Before you buy upgrade bulbs - check the prices on Amazon, as they're usually cheaper than the sites specialising in bulbs.

Volvo C30 - Upgrading headlights - S40 Man

I used to have s40 and headlights are not good. Volvo ethos about not dazzling other users to improve safety for all, but it means you can't see too well. I got led side lights off ebay which made a slight improvement for a couple of quid. The LEDs were definitely brighter anyway. Cheap first option for you to try anyway.

S40 Man - thanks. When I come to change do you recommend S40 ? I really need a petrol and theer don't seem to be that many about.

Volvo C30 - Upgrading headlights - S40 Man

I wouldn't recommend mine. I had loads of electrical problems. The bit where the key goes, alternator, dpf pressure sensor all failed. Mine was 2004 model so maybe there were a few early introduction gremlins. On road development etc. Anyway Its basically same car as C30 but with 5 seats and bigger boot. The inside was nice with comfy seats. I had diesel 2.0 which was OK but not especially economical. Don't know about petrol ones.

Scott, you don't say what lights your car has as standard?? And what combination of bulbs are fitted.
