Ford Focus mk1 - Speedo jumping and abs light on 9 Jul 2020 (Forum)
Sorry for rambling but anyone have any ideas? I’m planning on buying a new car anyway but I still need to keep this running for a couple of months. All thoughts and ideas welcome! -
Mk1 Ford Focus - Ford Focus starting issues 4 Dec 2019 (Forum)
They didnt and told me it could be an intermittent sticking injector, as for the time it was in the garage it would start and run fine. I suspect it was left inside the garage for the few days it was in, sheltered from the cold. They suggested adding some fuel cleaner and running it for a week or so and repeating. The next day it struggled to start as per, so i booked it in to have the glow plugs changed. -

Daewoo Matiz - Strange problem with ignition system 15 Aug 2019 (Forum)
Strange problem with my Daewoo Matiz “xtra cool” (1.0 petrol manual 2004) Got home last night and parked little Stacey as usual, turned ignition key to off position but the engine continued to run. Removed key and the engine continued to run. Put car in 4th gear and stalled engine to stop it. All ignition panel lights on - even with key removed. Reinsert key and try to start engine – no response. -
Mazda 6 - Mazda 6 2.5 - thoughts? 20 May 2019 (Forum)
What are peoples thoughts on the 2.5 engine? Is it worth going for (because of the higher running costs), or would it be more sensible to stick with the 2.0 Petrol engine. I would be doing between 8 - 10,000 miles a year... -

BMW 1 Series, E87, 116i - Problems with the car on a cold start 17 Dec 2018 (Forum)
After about 5 to 10 seconds (varies) it clears and runs as it should. Spoke to the dealer who explained I would have to take it to one of their BMW branches, which I did. Explained what the problem was for a second time, they hooked it up to their diagnostic equipment and took it for a test drive but they couldn't find anything wrong, no error codes, nothing. -

Ford Fiesta Mk5 2005 - Fiesta Mk5 cooling system 11 Jul 2018 (Forum)
I have an elderly Fiesta as my run about in the south of France - I'm sure mechanically it's pretty much the same as UK models. This week I gave it a bit more of a challenge than its usual trips to airport/beach/supermarket by taking it up some long steep climbs on roads in the southern Alps. -
Toyota Auris Touring Sports 2014 model year. - Toyota hybrid flat battery problems 9 Jun 2017 (Forum)
Our Skoda Rapid Spaceback 1.4 TSI SE Greentech has no such problems indeed the auto stop/start really needs a good "run" to function! Caveat emptor! ADRIAN DEWEY -
Ford Fiesta (2002 - 2008) - 2003 1.4 Cutting out low idle revs 25 Mar 2017 (Forum)
I replaced the coil pack, plugs and leads straight away. This fully restored the car to perfect running condition and the engine light has now gone off itself. However another problem more than likely related occurred around the same time that has not gone away? It idles fine and runs fine hot and cold but if I brake with the car in gear as you do when coming to a junction especially form higher speeds and press the clutch in at say 1500rpm the revs drop to 500 and the engine will often cut out or it will come back to idle at about 700 as normal. -

Vauxhall Zafira A - error codes - BDO or BDO2. 52 plate Zafira 29 Jul 2016 (Forum)
I have a 52 plate Zafira 1.8 auto which I rarely use so when I do use it the battery is usually dead, but after a recharge it'll start first turn of the key, here's the but every time weird things happen with the indicator lights on the gear change console and the dash also it'll go into safe mode (although I can manually change gear no problem) after running around for a while and a few ignition off and ons the lights on the gear change console sort there selves out and it starts running as normal but the Traction Control (car skidding in a triangle) and the Engine Electronics (car with a spanner on top) stay on. -

ford focus estate tdci - plug in tuning boxes 8 Feb 2016 (Forum)
I drive a Focus estate 1.8 Tdci, so im no performance junkie, but what made me sit up and take notice was the advertised 10% improvement in fuel economy and promise of smoother running, eliminating flat spots and bogging down, which my car seems particularly prone to. The fact this device is supposed to boost BHP from 115 to @135 isn't as important to me as the fact that this box should lead to a better running more economical car. -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.6 Instrument cluster fault symptoms 10 Jan 2016 (Forum)
Is it known whether this fault persisted in the Mk II model? Symptoms: - battery warning light comes back on and stays on after the car has run for a short distance after starting from cold - a few miles further on and the instruments go haywire - dials dropping to zero, engine warning lights and so on - NB engine continues running absolutely normally - symptoms have become more presistent over recent months. -
Ford Focus 5Dr Hatchback 2.0 Ltr TDCI - Starting Problems 4 Aug 2015 (Forum)
On occasion I have kept the key turned and 50% of the time it will eventually start but takes a long time. Once started it runs fine and feels as smooth and powerful as the day I bought it over four years ago. There has been no increase in fuel consumption either. There is not set pattern to when this happens it can be with a cold or warm engine or when it hasn't been used for 24hrs or just been on a long run. -
Ford Mondeo - Flashing glowplug light 21 Feb 2015 (Forum)
I have a Mondeo 2002 diesel on which the glowplug warning light started flashing as I was driving home. No other warning light appeared and the car seemed to run normally. I was only on small country roads so I can't say if the performance may have been affected at higher speeds. Also, I can't say if the flashing occurred immediately after starting the car (it was still warm after about 30 mins in a shop car park) or some minutes later as it was a sunny day and I might not have noticed it immediately. -
Volkswagen golf vii - VAG 1.2 tsi 86ps mpg figures and mph/rpm figure? 9 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Been to test drive yesterday on a 1.2 tsi new golf, is quite impressive for a 1.2 turbocharged comparing to the 1.4 tsi 122 in old golf unit, i find this unit is smoother in town run. so far been to 10miles test drive and get 49.6mpg with mix town run and dual carriage A- road, yet to try Motorway journeys wonder anyone has experience with it? I have been reading around for this engine on Leon and octavia most i have found is 105ps not the 86 ps variant, i know the 105ps is with a 6 speed box which will have different mpg figures -Anyone who drives a car with this engine could give me a clue on the mph/rpm figure? -
Skoda Felicia - Overheating 14 Apr 2013 (Forum)
As per the manual, the coolant was topped up with the temperature sensor and expanion tank cap removed, the engine running and the heater set at full. Whilst adding the coolant a lot of air bubbles were surfacing. After well over half an hour, these appear to have subsided, hence I presumed that any air in the system had been expelled.
