• Citroen Saxo 1.5 Diesel - Revs but Stalls on moving off. 21 May 2012 (Forum)
  The Saxo starts ok and engine revs up  no problem,the fun starts when starting to move off and the engine stalls. On checking the glow plugs( through battery charger ) one was found to be faulty no reading,  after replacing it with a good old one the problem had disappeared good result. A week on and the problem is back ,again one plug has no glow.I haven't replaced it yet but before i purchase a new set  am i missing something here.

  hi,   i have a 2004, 2 litre petrol 407, which will not start. the battery has power, and i suspect it is probably the starter motor. it is parked on a hill at the moment. i got it started by letting it roll down the hill, and drove 30 miles, and tried restarting but no success.

    I've changed the oil 37 times, the gearbox oil 5 times and had new discs/brakes/tyres 5 times. Nothing else has been changed Same battery, exhaust, rad, timing chain, pumps, belts, plugs, wipers, wheel bearings, CV joints. Never even a puncture or light bulb failure! It has no rust and has never failed MOT yet. It still feels taut to drive, stops quickly, drives straight and no rattles/squeaks!

  This doesn't always happen, just every now and again during winter and I've always manged to start it but it can take a lot of cranking. I've had diags connected, but no fault code was found, and have had the battery tested which came up as fine at 75%. To me it sounds like glow plugs, but as it is fine the rest of the time I'm not 100% sure, and surely this would have come up in the diag check? Could it be that they need cleaning, and if so would using BP Ultimate diesel help, or is this just for the injectors?

  Hi there, can anyone help, my wife was cleaning my car out yesterday and my son was playing in the drivers seat, switching switches etc, (as kids do), when i went to insert the card the dashboard went mad and started flshing all the lights at me, the out side lights didnt come on at all, due to this i was unable to start via the button, and was advised to jump start the car, that didnt work and now when i insert the key nothing happens at all.. i can understand that the battery may well be dead now, but how can this happen as i only used the car the day before!! has this happened to anyone, and what was the problem/fix, also will the code need re-programming for the key?

  Any ideas thet dont involve the words Starter and Motor would be greatly appreciated. The door locks are probably just coincidence but could this be a battery issue??

  It physically wont turn over, any advice on stuff to try would be a great help I have checked all the fuses and even taken the ground leg off the battery and none of this helps My key fob locks and unlocks fine Please please please can some one help as i need my car back on the road asap Thanks Louise

    When driving, lately there is a loss of power, and I get an "Airbag Warning" displayed on my multifuctions display, and the Battery, Handbrake and Oil lights illuminate on the dashboard, and also the Speedometer, Rev Counter, and Water Dial shoot to 0.   After a little while all warnings go out, except the AIR BAG illumination under the speedo, and all is fine, then 5 mins later it all happens agan.

  Obviously I can't ignore an oil warning lamp -- on the internets, some people are saying diconnect the battery for 5 mins to reset the computer -- that'll clear it -- but... I don't know. Has anyone experienced this before/ has any tips, please? Thanks! Mark
• Peugeot 306 1.4 Meridian (2000) - Ignition / Cooling fan trouble 27 Feb 2011 (Forum)
  Sometimes the engine will keep running after I remove the key (it eventually stops when I press the brake) and cooling fan will then run constantly, meaning I have to disconnect the battery to prevent it draining. I took it to an amateur mechanic who pointed out a burnt out, melted fuse in the interior fusebox as the problem. I think he's wrong as a poster on a Pug GTI forum described the exact same symptoms and about 5 people all said it was a problem with the cooling fan plug / connector, which in his case it turned out to be.

  Key fob neither opens or locks car at present it's been faulty for quite awile now doors willl lock/unlock with key in drivers door  car starts ok with key but you have to be quick  to start up or alarm will go off.  Iv'e been advised to do a re-boot after every thing goes to sleep disconnect battery earth join pos to neg and run voltage down and re-connect  I would like more input to this before trying this out afraid to damage ecu or some module any feedback greatly accepted Regards Mickeybo

  Could the belt have slipped and if so, is it easy to re-align (with a new belt)? Or is the problem simpler than that as in battery, coils etc. Help would be appreciated before I go down the route of trying to fix it myself or having it towed to a garage- depends upon my sense of humour today! By the way, my wife also has a punto which is exhibiting almost demonic behaviour of the windscreen wipers.

  Also the remote boot release button on the dashboard has stopped working but the boot can be unlocked & opened 'manually' using the key. I dont currently have a remote keyfob for the car, so I know its not the keyfob / battery. I have checked the central locking fuse & that seems ok. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.   It started with a jump start but it stays chucking  for a few minutes and cuts out again with the ABS light coming on. I reckon its a problem with the electronics in the car. The battery is perfect. Also the revs are totally off and the clocks stopped working. Anyone able to tell me exactly what the problem is and what would be the best thing to do?

  Another problem it raised today is, the rpm at standalone position ( not in gear, in standing mode) has increased, before it was around 10,000 not it suddenly increased to 20,000 and then drop slowly to 10,000 and again rouse to 20,000 like I’m pressing and releasing accelerator again and again. So whats the problem, is it with starter or ignition or battery (but it seemed fine). Please help me out

  It happens when they are warm, both start fine and run ok and the tick over seems ok but from time to time after driving and stopping or slowing down the battery light flickers and then the engine stalls?? The new plugs i fitted were NKG plug's and were the right ones for the engines. The old plugs were quite burnt with a huge gap, maybe 3 - 4mm. the book says 1mm which is what the new plugs are, could this be too small?

  The car is Ghia x 2 litre registered in Jan 02 and the key - non remote has a blue plastic insert. The remote does not work and I have replaced the battery and tried the turning the key in the ignition 4 times reprogramming option but it still does not work. In addition, when the car has been standing overnight and I turn the key in the drivers door lock, it will not unlock the other doors or the boot and so I cannot get into the boot until the car has 'warmed up'.

  Hi on going probs with this car,ok any one can shed some lite on this prob,new egr,new idle control,new ht leads,so far,start car up in morning,no prob,drive for miles &miles no prob,minuate turn engine off restart runs like box of nails ,rev it up a minuate or so back to ok.if do not rev up ,& just pull away it will cut out,sometimes when it feels like it,air filter fine.stumped.some one has suggested the air pump next to battery faulty,dont acturly know what part in engine this plays.many thanks if u know prob,second guessing is getting exspensive.
