Classic bad driving 15 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Lorry 1 decides to oevrtake lorry 2 , comes out without signal into path of CRV, gap between them is now about 20 yards at 60-70 mph .CRV hasn\'t anticipated this move, is spooked by lorry 1\'s move , so goes to lane 3, without signal . In lane 3 is a very fast-moving BMW which manages to brake in time . Lorry 2 turns off at the exit, not having signalled in advance , so lorry 1\'s manoeouvre unnecessary - he reverts to lane 1 . -

Dispute with friend oPorsche 924 engine! 14 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Don't you just hate it when somebody thinks that they know everything there is to know, or at least more than the layman, about a subject, just because they work in a related field? I've had an arguement with a friend who doesn't know the first thing about Porsches of the 70's and 80's, about the engine of the much maligned 924. As us back roomers know, it is a direct transplant of the VW lt van engine, however as my friend works (selling advertising) for a small specialist motorsports magazine, he thinks he by right knows better than me... -
Rover 400 / Honda Civic 5 Door Headlight 16 Dec 2003 (Forum)
The works pool car is a P Reg 416i, which will happily much its way through 3-4 bulbs a year. My Civic VTI has used 3 in 9 months of ownership and the driver?s side has just gone again. My brothers N Reg 416Si is already on its first replacement bulb and he?s only had it 3 weeks!! Look on the road and you see loads of 400s and Civics with blown bulbs. The only thing I have come across like this is Vauxhalls and their hunger for dash and heater control bulbs. -
MX 5 Information 10 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I've just bought a 1994 MX5 1.8 S. It's a UK car and seems pretty decent with a couple of dings but nothing major. I recall reading that the 1.6 engine is 'no-contact' on cam belt breakage. Is the 1.8 also a no piston to valve contact engine in the event of a cam-belt failure? -
Thank goodness for 3-year guarantees 4 Nov 2003 (Forum)
What a waste and what a cost - luckily I\'ve still got 6 months of the warranty left otherwise I\'d have been tempted to find a local blacksmith\'s shop. Terry -
Is it terminal? Carlton Rear Diff. 14 Jul 2003 (Forum)
I quickly refilled with EP 90 (the official recommendation). It then reverted back to my regular \'shusshing\'. Regards to all Bob P.S. There\'s no \'play\' either vertically or horizontally in the prop shaft or axles so i guess this rules out bearings? -

Citroen DS - Any experience? 13 Jun 2003 (Forum)
I'm kind of thinking that I've got a lot of enjoyment out of my two Rover P6's that it might be time to move on to a new challenge. I've always liked the Citroen DS. My own knowledge is a bit patchy but I know that I'll probably go for a 21 Super 5 as it's by far the most popular one sold in the UK. -
Another MG ZR post (Dealer and Price) 9 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Can anyone give me a contact number at Rover to try to have a rational discussion with somebody in Sales? P S I am also eligible for MG car club Preferred Customer Discount - but nobody knows if that is "as well as" or "instead of". P P S Does anyone know where I can get a ZR 105 one year old at a sensible price bearing in mind the alleged high rate of depreciation...? -
Hi Ho Silver! 2 Feb 2003 (Forum)
- Every other car, 4X4 or MPV I see on the road these days, no matter what model or marque seems to be Silver. IMO the increase in popularity happened in the mid/late 90's - I especially recall seeing most of the "new" BMW 5's(E39) and Merc E class' coming out in Silver and it seemed that all the other marques followed suit. How many car adverts have you seen in recent years with Silver cars in them? -
Bumpers and o/s trim for 96 Trafic 23 Dec 2002 (Forum)

Volkswagen Phaeton 22 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Absolutely hideous car by UK standards. Looks like a cross between a VW Passat and Pug 607. Compared to the beautiful new S class and imposing 7 series, it looks throughly cheap and nasty. The kind of thing you'd expect to pay $25k for in the US as far as external looks go. Who in their right mind would buy this car in the UK? -
Who is David Hardcastle? 14 Sep 2002 (Forum)
I don't have any problem with paying charges to use some roads, once what we have already paid is spent on what it was collected for. If they were more honest about the budget they wouldn't need to top it up with pathetic "s************s", located on long straight stretches of safe road, or dual carriageways with 40 limits, which you join from single lane roads with a 60 limit. -

A5 or Arteon 16 Feb 2022 (Forum)
Hi all Looking for your feedback. I’m torn between an A5 fastback S line trim or an Arteon R line spec with the 2.0 diesel. Around an 18 plate the dimensions look reasonably the same the Arteon is slightly cheaper. Anyone have experience of running Costs, servicing , residuals? -
Peugeot - Peugeot Drivers 28 Jun 2020 (Forum)
This Top Gear clip is still remembered by many and still makes a Peugeot salesman s job so difficult. https://youtu.be/9TnGjq9mWSI True to the image my dealer has copies of the Daily Mail and Express for the drivers to read and they play the Jeremy Vine show over the P A system.
