Techno Classica 2015: Topless Lamborghini Miura is a treat 16 Apr 2015 (News)
A stunning one-off Miura roadster was the big draw on the Lamborghini stand at this year’s Essen classic car show. The one-off Miura was built by Bertone as a show car for the 1968 Brussels motor show. It appeared at several other shows that year, and was then sold. Of course, a few other Miuras have been given the tin-opener treatment, but as far as we know this is the only factory-built soft-top. -

Older cars typically have below average pass rates compared to the rest of the UK, while newer cars are slightly better. The best performing manufacturer is Porsche, followed by Lexus and Honda. The best performing maker is Lexus, followed by Porshe, Triumph and Smart. Triumph hasn't been producing cars since 1984, which means the majority of those left are classics and treated as second cars, which could explain its high pass rate. MoT Data for St Albans 6 May 2014 (News)
There are very few red numbers in the tables for St Albans, indicating that it's a good area for MoT pass rates. Most of the numbers in the car makers and year of registration tables show above average pass rates, while the table for the most common causes of failure is all green. Luxury car makers have the highest pass rates, as is fairly typical across the UK. -

Milton Keynes puts in a mid-table MoT performance with a fairly average overall pass rate. Newer models have a better chance of passing than cars of the same age in other parts of the country. The car maker with the highest pass rate is Aston Martin, although its pass rate is 10% lower than the average in for Aston Martins in other areas of the UK. -

Failure rates for lighting and signalling are higher than they are elsewhere, but suspension and brake related problems are less common – possibly because Harrow is built up and well served by public transport, so cars aren't generally used as much. Interestingly more modern cars have below average pass rates, whereas older models have above average pass rates. The best performing models are are Porsche, Subaru and Lexus. -
