  • Electric autonomous vehicle revealed: could replace petrol and diesel cars within five years 11 Feb 2020 (News)
    Gordon Murray Design has revealed pictures of an autonomous vehicle which could replace petrol or diesel cars in busy urban areas within the next few years. The designer behind the 1990s' McLaren F1 road car has developed the autonomous pod as part of a consortium with Silverstone-based Delta Motorsport and mobility specialist ItMoves.

  • Sir Basil Spence’s Lancia to go under the hammer 24 Aug 2017 (News)
    One of Britain’s most distinguished modern architects of the post-War era, Sir Basil Spence is most notably associated with Coventry cathedral. But Spence was also a car enthusiast and purchased the Lancia Flavia Vignale in April 1963. As one of approximately 40 right-hand drive UK examples, the car was priced at £2350 - a considerable sum at the time. It is believed he bought the car as a gesture while he was working on his design for the British Embassy in Rome.

    Fourteen classic car enthusiasts have completed an epic 102-day trip from Bangkok to MG’s spiritual home in Oxfordshire. The seven MGB’s arrived at Kimber House, the MG Car Club’s headquarters, on Wednesday 12 July having completed 25,000kms.

    Consignments already accepted for Historics Classic Car Auction at Brooklands Museum on 11 th June include this 1959 MGA Twin Cam. The car was exported to the USA when new, then imported from the USA to Denmark in 2004 where it underwent a full nut and bolt restoration.
  • Driverless cars set for UK motorways next year 15 Mar 2016 (News)

    The Wing is named in honour of former MG Car Club chairman and president, Bill Wallis. Bill joined the MGCC in the late 1940s and went on to found the Midlands Centre.   • Summer value at Historics' first sale of 2014 12 Mar 2014 (News)
    Five passed under the hammer, with top price going to a 1965 Series I (below) at £91,840, while a similar model, except for beign right-hand drive trailed it home at £87,360. Mercedes-Benz cars are always a strong presence at Historics, and of the 15 cars offered, 13 sold. Top Benz was a sympathetically-restored 1968 280SL Pagoda, which moved home for a strong £73,360. Another interesting car was the 1968 Volvo Amazon, which sold for an above-estimate £9500.
  • Toyota announces Prius recall: 30,000 cars affected 12 Feb 2014 (News)
    Vehicle owners will be contacted by Toyota within the coming weeks by post or telephone and asked to make an appointment to bring their car to their nearest Toyota centre, in accordance with Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) guidelines.
