  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 2001 1.8 tddi estate - secondary fuel pump? 21 Dec 2008 (Forum)
can anyone tell me has this car got a fuel pump in the tank to supply the main pump, ive got flat spot at 2,800revs after that clears itself.got a diagnostic and said its lack of fuel.garage checked his diagram and its said no fuel pump in the tank, but they rang ford and they said it did,but seems very cheap £55 so my garage thinks they could be sending the wrong thing out ie some sort of gauge.if it has no fuel pump it looks like ive got to get a new main pump!!
  • Mitsubishi Shogun/Pajero (1991 - 1999) - 95 2.8td Fuel system bleeding (diesel) 20 Dec 2008 (Forum)
The only thing I can think of is air in the fuel system from doing the fuel filter, yet I bled and primed it as suggested in the service manual. I'm thinking maybe I didn't spend enough time bleeding, only problem is trying to avoid getting diesel everywhere.
  • Cavalier Diesel wont start 12 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Have checked all fuses, relays, wires, timing belt, also connected a direct cable from battery + term to idle stop solenoid (fuel cut-off) it clicked every time I touched the terminal on the solenoid. I also disconnected 1 of the fuel pipe unions from the injector and turned the engine over, no fuel came through. Did the same with 1 pipe union at the fuel injection unit (1 of the 4 pipes) still no fuel came through.Glow plugs warm up normal.
  • Ford Focus TDDI misfire 23 Jun 2003 (Forum)
It does it when the engine is hot or cold but has never done it when just idling. I have checked the fuel pipes incase it could be an air leak and changed the fuel filter. I am now waiting for the fuel tank to run low incase it is contaminated fuel which I purchased from a different forecourt to my usual, as I was on holiday at the time.

  • Fuel prices 7 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Don't know what fuel prices are like around your area, but those at my local supermarket have gone up 7p/ltr (31.5p/gallon in old money) in the last seven days. Just doesn't seem to be any reason for it, apart from greed!

  • Filling with fuel to the brim 15 Feb 2006 (Forum)
When buying fuel I always "fill to the brim" so I can reasonably accurately calculate consumption, but I read somewhere that it's a bad idea. (I use diesel, by the way, if that's relevant.) Is bad to fill to the brim?
  • Laguna Low Fuel Light 29 Apr 2004 (Forum)
No doubt RenaultFamily will know this... How much fuel is left when the light comes on? Handbook doesn't say & the trip just goes blank. I've done 40 mls with it on, but wouldn't like to push it much further. Is there an industry standard on the setting?
