• £7000 budget - Family Car needed 11 Dec 2012 (Forum)
  We have £7k budget to buy a family car and thinking of either a diesel 09 Citreon C5 or an older BMW/Audi diesel. Moneys tight so needs to be reliable, with low servicing costs etc. Does anyone have any alternatives?

  Got family coming to stay, looking to hire a top end 7 seater,  hoping for an Audi Q7, but baulking at the rates quoted so far,  £200 a day -  will find a different solution. Need the car for 2-3 days only     Anybody got  any leads / suggestions ?

  Thanks for comments on the Audi TT (previous thread). I'm looking to trade my FTO in this year for a convertible but I'm really struggling to decide which one. I've got 16-18K to spend and want something with a bit of performance (like the FTO), a bit of class and about 2-3 years old.

  I know a bloke who is looking for the plastic undertray that sits under the engine in the old shape Audi A4 TDI. VAG are looking £225 for a replacement. Other than VAG breakers any bright ideas??   Inspected an Audi 1.8 16v for a friend over the weekend. 94k with full VAGSH. All ok except that the chain linking the cams I feel is noisy. What is involved with replacing this item. I plan to do it when I give it a full service and all fluid change.
