FIAT Panda 4x4 (2005 - ) - The Great Tyre Experiment 28 Oct 2007 (Forum)
They have gripped quite well but I want to see if another make of tyre will be better. I need all season tyres marked M+S (no, not Marks and Spencer) to give a bit of 4x4 credibility. I have chosen Hankook Centum H720's from mytyres, based on the reviews that the website provides. They are a good looking uni-directional tyre so handling may even improve in adverse conditions. -
Nissan Almera Tino (2000 - 2006) - 02 1.8 - vibes through gear stick & LCD illum. 8 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Just bought my first 2002 almera tino 1.8 s not a bad vehicle ,i was always used to a vauxhall so i haven't got used to the gears and gear stick yet, seeing the vauxhall has a relatively small stick, its when i put my hand on the tinos stick i feel a slight vibration it this normal and there seems to be a bit of play between 1 and 2 there's only 55000 on the clock and another prob is the the wee box situated below the speedo where the time ,out -side temp and the miles accumalter is situated in seems to be brighter at one side of the box and dark at the other side as if there is a bulb out at one side the rest of the dash is alright , is it hard to take the panel where the speedo is situated out to check the bulbs any help would be great s -
Ford Factory fitted bluetooth kit 21 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Hi, I have a Ford S-Max and would like to change my head unit to an aftermarket head unit for more features. My only question concerns that fact that my car has factory fitted bluetooth so that my mobile phone hooks up with the car and all calls go through the stereo and integral microphone. -

Driving in the 90s and 100s 20 Oct 2006 (Forum)
She was later filmed driving off from the hairdressers with her walking stick on the roof of her BMW and being stopped by a lady to return it . I am all for keeping old folks mobile but surely we should have some sort of more stringent test 's for the over 80's and not leave it to purely to them to decide when it is time to give up. -
L driver cheaper insurance loophole? 15 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Based on daughter 1's experience, the first year would cost around £850, and so I'm guessing that a years NCB will bring that down by perhaps as much as 20%. So if the the moped insurance costs less than £170, I'm in profit. -
Overheating Punto 24 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Mk 1 - 8 valve. My wife?s Punto overheated today. She was using it locally, no traffic jams, so what made it overheat? The only thing I can imagine is the thermostat stuck shut. The engine got so hot that the plastic lugs holding the cambelt cover to the engine have melted. -
Aberrant hybrid styling 3 Feb 2006 (Forum)
However for a true BL monstrosity, wasn't there a version of the Austin 1800 with a longitudinally-placed 6-cylinder? Citroen did something similar by adopting for the Light 15's last couple of years of production the big bootlid originally fitted to the Slough-assembled RHD cars. It wasn't all that bad but ruined the Light 15's lines. And there was a truly grotesque aftermarket boot some people used to fit to 2CVs. -
Omega 2.0 Eco, DOHC. Smoke in engine bay 15 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Unable to find exactly where fumes are from but looks to be in the direction of the EGR valve? The odd thing is that it will run OK for a short time then it?s as if something is letting go of pressure. That?s when the above happens? Any ideas? Please !!! Another quick question too if I may... There is what is described (in Haynes) as a cut off valve on the right side on the engine bay to the left of the power steering fluid reservoir. -
Mondeo Euro III/IV diesel 13 Sep 2005 (Forum)
s of Winsford have TDCi 130 Ghias for £11.5k which seems like a good deal. Which at last leads me to my question ? my reading tells me that there is a big mpg difference between the Euro III and Euro IV models and that I want a Euro III ? -
Megane jerky at high revs 25 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Car: Megane Mk1 2.0 8v with s\s exhaust system & Inductions kit. Hi Any ideas on this would be gratefully recivied, as it's a very inconsistent problem. My megane has twice recently (once when hot once when cold) started dropping power after it's been taken above 4k RPM, to the point where the more throttle I give it the less I get back in return. -
Motorway Gantry Signs 13 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I can\'t believe how many people either will not switch on at all ( and when 98% are illuminated, they become even harder to see) and then when they do insist on using parking lights until there\'s pitch darkness. 2 re mobile phone use .Since the law came in I\'ve still seen half a dozen or so people using hadheld ; today a can driver navigating a miniroundabout near me .It was always stupid and arrogant to do it, now it\'s illegal as well -

Warning - impersonating an official 19 May 2004 (Forum)
As there are many threads relating to complaints to garages, shops etc, I feel that it is prudent to point out a little paragraph in a Which? report that I read at my dad\'s - I am not sure if it is this month\'s or the exact content. However, the summary of it was that someone had complained to a well known clothes shop about a product and, when he was getting nowhere with his complaint, he claimed that he was from Trading Standards in the hope that they would panic and back down. -
keeper/owner 24 Mar 2004 (Forum)
And what about someone who buys a new car but then gives it to their daughter as a present? Insurance companies do indeed ask ?Are you the vehicle?s owner and keeper??. I have a document which says I?m the keeper, but if I reply that yes, I am the owner, how can I be sure I?m not giving false information? -
Reward A484MKK Cream 230TE W123 10 Mar 2004 (Forum)
I presume I have been a victim of the gang of Balkan thieves mentioned in the Telegraph http://tinyurl.com/yu7nv There\'s a healthy reward waiting for anybody who finds this (some chance). Identifying characteristics: green interior, badly worn patch by drivers right arm - horsehair showing through; no front mats; some rust over wheelarches as usual. -
Fuel Consumption Peugeot 307 18 Jan 2004 (Forum)
I have not been using cruise control. I don\'t think it\'s my driving - my previous car was a 306 DT and that achieved 50 mpg and their extra urban claim was 54 mpg. Are these figures typical? What are you achieving? I\'m not getting much change out of local Peug distributor and I would like some evidence! -
Corolla - timing chain or cam belt? 2 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I know this is blatantly obvious to some, but it isn't to me. I'm off shortly to view an S reg Corolla 1.3i SE, it's got 43k and I haven't a clue if it's got a timing chain or cam belt. Which is it anyone and when should they be changed? Plus if there's any other quick tips to look out for, (I have been through the CBC and How to Buy and Sell cars here). -
