Any - Do I keep the warranty? 12 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Just bought 1 year old car from main dealer. It has 2 years remaining warranty. Previous cars have been too old for this luxury and been serviced by a trusted local independent, so I'm out of touch with the rules. -

recognition test.. 31 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I was sorting through old files and foders last week and discovered old negatives from my college days. The link below leads to a pic. of a fellow student's Topolino that we re-built and ran for a year whilst at the Swansea College of Art. -
Fabricating a part 10 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Bear with me here, but I'm wondering as to the feasibility of making my own pollen filter housing for my car. The current arrangement has 4 (Yes, 4) parts, not including the filter. My old Fiesta had a box with a lid. You took the old filter out, and put a new one in. I don't know what the VAG designers were smoking when they designed the abomination on my car, but I think I could do better. -
Power steering pump - Ford Fiesta 21 Jan 2006 (Forum)
It looks easy enough to get to, but having never done a power steering pump before was wondering if it needed any special bleeding or if there was a specific procedure that needed to be followed. Kinda disappointed that its already playing up on a 3 year old car with 37,000 miles. Ive owned lots of cars, 10 years old with mileage well over 100,000 and never had to change a power steering pump before. -
Wheel trim repair? 22 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Whilst trying to parallel park today, I got a bit too close to a high kerb and ended up giving my poor old trims a bit of scuff. :-( Thing is, they were nearly perfect, and the originals from when the car was new, so I wont throw them away and with the car being 13 years old, they're not easy to come by. -
amazing sighting 10 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I in the Royal Signals in the early 70's in Dorset and my first car was a Viva HB, light blue and very common at the time. In 2000 I was at a reunion in Blandford and who was the car in front at the lights? my old Viva in immaculate condition. The engine gave out on me in about '73 and the local dealers gave me a PX on a Victor. -
Meguires polish. 9 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Is the search engine ok today? I have been trying to look up the old threads on this product without any luck, a search on car "car polish" returns nothing from the forum. I have been using Auto Glym for years but the last bottle of liquid extra shine is not as good as the previous bottle I had. -

Sports Car - Which One? 27 May 2004 (Forum)
The car will be used as a second car (old E30 BMW is everyday car) so doesn't have to have Honda reliablity although I don't want it to be a nightmare like Dad's Stag! I would prefer a convertible, I like big engines and English cars if possible. -
Madness to buy diesel-engined car? 10 Oct 2024 (Forum)
I had to let go my old and faithful diesel engined car last year as it didn’t meet the emissions criteria for me to drive it in the middle of Bristol without paying the £9 daily charge. Ever since I have been looking for a replacement which is as economical on the motorway as my old motor. -

Has anyone experience of calling out rescue my car? -
Which Merc or BMW is best for a dull driver 24 Mar 2012 (Forum)
My wife has said that she wants a “comfortable” car which seems to boil down to a Merc or BMW, although other cars that could be driven by salesman of the month types would fit. What models of Mercs or BMWs (or similar) cars would be able to fit this mould. -
bmw z3 - Second car insurance 28 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I tried a couple of the multicar ones, but they don't work out any cheaper than the two lowest individual quotes. Z3 is 11 years old, so I thought classic might be an option, but so far all the ones I've found needed the car to be 15 years old. -
Insurance Claim Issue 2 Apr 2011 (Forum)
OK, was at a well known family holiday centre like Haven, Butlins etc.. in the car park (with gates and barriers to prevent public entry) I went into reception leaving my 12yr old son and 5yr old daughter to get out the car and come in when they were ready. They came in and my son said the duaghter fell out the car and the door knocked the door handle of the car next to us. -

Bentley 4.5 litre / Bugatti Veyron - Two £600,000 cars at auction this week 7 Jun 2010 (Forum)
The small print should remind people that 'investments can go down as well as up'. Ask anybody who paid a blindingly stupid price for an old car during the last 'bubble', 20 years ago. Although I suppose, as most of these people are in it for the money rather than a love of old cars, if the price/value eventually plummets they will just put it down as a tax loss.
