  Hi, Can any one help?  2006  1.4 Fiesta Diesel At the end of a journey a small amount of coolant is deposited on the floor - enough to lower the level from Max to about half way towards Min.  I think it comes from the header tank vent, (if it was a leak I think the whole system would be empty before I got home).

  With the top hose off the radiator and the car running no coolant comes out the rad even though the rad is full of coolant and also no coolant is reaching up to the heater matrix (i've taken hoses off and they are dry). If I take the hoses off the radiator and pour water in the top it flows out the bottom, likewise on the engine- water flows through the block indicating no blockages.

    I took it out for a 15min run around the block and white smoke was pouring out the back, checked the coolant and it had gone below the Min mark after I'd filled it to just under the max also it had turned a brownish colour.   Strange thing s the coolant has also returned to the same level after leaving it to cool.

   Local Honda dealer could not be bothered to return my call, went  to book with a dealer 8 miles away in Surrey/London border that price matched at £215...shows how much profit margin is built in.  My question should we get fuel filter and coolant properly drained which are all extras.  Honda want £90 for coolant and  between £90 to £160 for fuel filter depending on external or internal.  Should I get coolant changed?

  I 've read in the past, about different types of anti-freeze coolants..and how we must be careful which we use, depending on the types of metal and stuff the coolant is in contact with? I'm referring to older technology engines, rather than 'modern' one's [where the maker simply tells us what to use?]....

  Temp gauge reads 30 40 degrees under temp. Should i change yellow temp sensor?  Is the blue green coolant ok for this car?Thats the anti freeze it has in it. Thanks for any help given.

  I'm yet to go to a garage to check out the anti pollution thing, but two days ago a new issue came up: Every now and then, the car shows: coolant temperature too high, and the stop sign flashes. Meanwhile, the temperature guage still stays under 90 degrees. After few minutes of driving, it stops. This has been happening randomly over the last two days.

  I have a 2002 Fiesta Zetec-S and had the thermostat housing changed by a mechanic (mate of a mate) because of a coolant leak and I had no previous temperature issues. The temperature seems to be going up and down like a yo-yo. It seems to be ok for the 1st part of the journey but as soon as I get to higher speeds and then reduce the temperature rises, one way to make it go down is to accelerate in a lower gear.

  I've pushed them back down but am unaware of what consequences this might cause? I've seen a similair sort of thread about this, about the coolant mixing with oil, but there is no coolant in my system because it was drained prior to removing the head. So what I really want to know is have I broken some seals which means when I do refill with coolant it's goin to mix with the oil?

  The water temperature has never risen above 90oc on the guage. According to the owners manual normal operating coolant temperature should be half way on the gauge (95oc) Could this be the temperature sender, and does anyone know if they are prone to failure on these Corsa's? Or is this just another great Vauxhall flaw!

  My Son bought a P reg 4.0ltr Range Rover last week, yesterday he was driving the car when it suddenly stopped, all the coolant was lost from the bottom of the radiator, on inspection the radiator had burst at the bottom seam, the car is now at a garage waiting for another radiator to arrive. My first thought was that the head gasket has blown and pressurised the system, which has caused the radiator to fail, any other thoughts?

  i seem to be getting lots of air in the coolant system. i have bled the system as shown in the manual but still no joy. the problem started yesterday when i parked(facing downhill) coolant started spurting out of the overflow pipe, however i had pulled in a few yards up the road on a level surface no coolant had escaped during the time i had waited for a van to move from my parking space.

  I have a astra mk3 s reg 1.6 8 valve , lost all coolant out of exspansion tank and heat .on topping up and running the car I noticed alot of pressure building up in the tank.I also took off the oil filler cap here i noticed mayonase on the cap and alot of whiteish smoke coming out of the opening.The oil on the dipstick shows no sign of water just seems on the oil filler cap also when you put your hand over the oil inlet in the rocker cover you seem to feel as though it as a vaccum suction.the engine seems to run ok , but I think the head gasket maybe on its way out.

  A mate of mine has a 1995 Rover 414 (later shape)that is showing some of the symptoms of a blown head gasket. I say 'some' as the coolant expansion bottle is full of 'mayonnaise' yet it is not overheating (even in traffic) and there is no signs of oil/coolant mixing on the dipstick or under the rocker cover. There is no signs of coolant being pressurised by combustion gases either.

  Hi My daughters K reg Polo 1.1 has started to use/ loose coolant about 1/4 pint a week.cannot find any leaks around hoses, water pump radiator ect. oil level not increased and looks ok. took off rocker cover very clean inside apart from a very small amount of mayonaze around oil filler cap, thought this could be condensation due to short runs (8 miles per day)and cold weather just recently.Engine runs fine starts ok, runs at same temporature as always has.Noticed a lot of clean water from exhaust, but again could be condensation.

  I have a 95 hyundai accent with the 1.5 12v engine (104000 mi). Recently i have noticed that it spits coolant regularly from the overflow on the expansion tank. The engine is not overheating according to the gauge. I changed the rediator cap, which didnt help. It doesnt do it constantly, but if i drive the car for a while then open the bonnet there is coolant splashed around from the overflow pipe.

  I posted last week saying how my E320 CDI W211 at only 5 months old had sprung a diesel leak and an oil leak and that the oil was dripping onto a coolant pipe and was damaging it. http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?f=4&t=12923 They have lent me an old shape E-Class and rung today to say the new pipe was on back order and to expect a wait of a further 10 days.

  Breather hose isn't completely blocked with mayo or other obstruction. Any suggestions? Haven't been looking at coolant too closely, but before I took the filler car off I thought the coolant might had gone down a bit to what it was. No oil in coolant, or mayonnaise on dipstick. Also read on this site that it might just be the winter months doing this rather than a head gasket?
