Citroen Berlingo Multispace II (2008 - ) - HJ's road test has arrived! 18 Jun 2008 (Forum)
In fact, this event is soooooooo important, that I thought it was worth starting a new thread, rather than posting yet another post on mlj's thread. I was somewhat surprised at the comment "So instead of being quite good for a van, it actually is car-like to drive with a fine blend of ride and handling that belie its utilitarian looks." Personally, I thought that the old Berlingo was pretty car-like to drive with a fine blend of ride and handling. -
£8.5k, economical hatch. 29 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Right, baring in mind that th.is will be about six months down the line, I'll be changing my car (6 year old, 1.6 focus) for a new (18 month old) small hatch. I've figured that with £8,500 (I've saved up) I should be able to afford a decent one? Trouble is I'll be wanting a diesel, that will achieve a good mpg and a minimum of 18 months warranty left that wouldn't depreciate too much over the next 2/3 years (perhaps worth £5000 in a couple of years)? -
Insurance for "chav" mods 19 Apr 2006 (Forum)
A question for all you young lads or for the insurance experts My nearly 19 year old son is changing his car from the ancient VW Golf he had to practise in. He is looking at a 7 or 8 year old VW Polo - likely a 1.4 (please no comments about the car - that's his choice). He is already planning ideas on all the things he wants to do to it. -
£8k to spend. What to buy? 28 Nov 2005 (Forum)
I lose my company car in February and so will be back in the world of buying my own tax discs, tyres, fuel, etc. My budget is £8k and ideally would like a car 3 years old with less than 40k miles on the clock. I also need a decent amount of space as I need to fit a pram and shopping in as well as accommodate the usual weekend trips to B&Q and Ikea. -
Good News, Sad News 26 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Good News: Renewed the insurance on the Camaro today. £336.79 same as last year. Not too excessive for a 160mph car. Sad News: Called at the local Sainsbury's to pick up some essentials. Sat in the car waiting for the boss to return with the wine, a lovely old Facel Vega crawled past and parked opposite me. I've seen it around before and it looks like it's just come out of the showroom. -
Happy memories of motoring Bank Holidays 25 May 2009 (Forum)
What are your Happy memories? Can you give us a `sound bite` (literally that is) and a bit of a write up? (Based on an 8yr olds memory of a `Desert Rat` friend.) It`s 1955 and the crack troops that defeated Rommel in the western desert are again heading towards the coast - radiators boiling in old pre war cars, some with mastic oozing from cracked cast iron water jackets.. -

Mazda Mazda 6 (2008 -) - New model pics before Frankfurt 9 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Probably old hat now but: http://jalopnik.com/cars/frankfurt-auto-show/mazda6-images-hit-the-net-ahead-of-frankfurt-unveiling-296946.php Maybe I should have waited ;-) No the Mondeo and therefore Mazda6 too wide. -
Handprints etched into windscreen 9 Feb 2007 (Forum)
No matter what I clean the inside of my car's windscreen with (including Autoglym Car Glass Polish), by tne time a film has built up you can see the same old handprints and fingerprints every time. It's a replacement screen and I can only assume that the fitter had very corrosive perspiration and that it actually etched its way into the glass! -

Claim Settlement 15 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Hiya, I've got a question concerning a claim settlement. Had a damage on my car some month ago. It looks as if the causer (his insurance) is going to pay eventually. Meanwhile I'd rather like to buy another car spending the settlement money on the new one and sell the old one as it is without repair. -
New Ford Focus 14 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Was following a new shape Focus for several miles today and its number plate was of the format AB02XYZ (not the actual number, of course). How could this be registered with a 2002 plate when the car was only introduced last year i.e. 2004. I suppose the owner could have asked for an old plate to be transferred to his/her new car. Am I overlooking something obvious here? -
