Audi A6 Avant 4.2 Quattro - Emissions warning light - catalytic problem? 15 Nov 2013 (Forum)
Just wanted a bit of advice as to what to do - i.e. what are the implications of having the warning light on. I have also heard that if I have an LPG conversion then the cats are not required to pass an emissions test because of the cleaner burn (although I have heard that it might be illegal to remove the cats). So for the cost of a new set of catalytic converters can I consider and LPG conversion and removal of the cats and see it as an offset saving on the conversion cost? -
Most Economical Petrol car over 2000cc? 3 Mar 2013 (Forum)
I would consider a 3-5 year old car with up to 50,000 miles. Budget around £6-7k No turbo's as I would be looking to LPG convert it in the near future. (so a full size spare would be a real plus) Apart from the Mercedes A200 turbo, not many cars have just over 2000cc. What's a good'un?? I've had lots of Alfas, vauxhalls, fords, Peugeot, Ford, Citroen, Fiat, and am impressed by Japanese motors at the mo. -
Advice on a new car 10 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Some more details, and I realise that I may need to be flexible with some of this... * petrol engine (I'm planning on going LPG - or is that a whole other thread in itself?) * economy would be nice of course (assuming here that more economical petrol engine = more economical lpg engine) * not too many miles on the clock (preferably less than 30k) * whatever features one needs from a car to keep two babies (and then kids, which I'm told they'll turn into) safe * not too old (preferably around 3 years) * looks are important, as is build quality EDIT: Forgot to add the important bit - prefer to keep the budget to around £8k, but anything close enough is good enough. -
Jag XK150 replica 4.2 auto ! - which BMW diesel is best ? 12 Mar 2016 (Forum)

A nice big, low tech powerful economical complete with autobox and must be rear wheel drive! BMW probably- 2.5 tds. My question- which BMW engine is best for power, economy, low tech (minimum electronics)? -
270/320/430 - Mercedes ML 1 May 2011 (Forum)
We don't do many miles so am not too bothered with the extra fuel comsumption of a petrol one - and have seen a couple of 430's with LPG conversions and have had gas vehicles before. Does anyone have any advice of what to look for, avoid etc. as I don't really want to get caught with my pants down but I know that the build quality (apparently) isn't up to the usual standard. -
Car versus train travel 15 Oct 2008 (Forum)
£63 is the best fare I could find and 2 hours 23 mins travel time. No wonder no one uses trains to travel. £63 just also happens to cost the same in LPG fuel for 1000 miles of road travel... ...so guess how I will be getting to the NEC at Birmingham when I go soon? Even with parking costs of £8.00 at the NEC I will be quids in! -

Jeep Cherokee 4.0 SE Limited Auto, ok? 6 Aug 2005 (Forum)
It's covered 74K and is it A1 condition. It's been fully serviced from new at a Jeep dealer and was converted to run on LPG by an approved installer in 2000 (this being one reason for buying it). I wondering if anyone has anything that I should watch out for on Jeep or any opinions of them before I go ahead. Thanks Paul -

"New" auto car 11 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Well I have succumbed to an Audi S8, 1997 vintage and have had it converted to LPG (47MPG equivalent at the moment). It’s got the auto tip box on it. When waiting at lights do I put it in neutral and put the hand brake on (as I do at the moment), or do I just sit there with it in drive with the brake pedal down? -

Subaru Forester XT 2008 - emissions seem good 19 Apr 2019 (Forum)
Took the good lady's Forester XT in for MOT today, clean pass, apparently they still use a decelerometer on full time 4x4's (i did wonder if they had some sort of free wheel device for the other axle by now), bet he enjoyed a blast in the little pocket rocket. Interesting the emission test results. LPG ppm vol, max limit 1200, actual value 90 CO %vol max limit 3.500, actual value 0.000 Be very glad to pay up the £550 VED required for all that pollution :-)) -

Mazda 6 - Mazda 6 - any good? 10 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I have been a fan of the blue oval for many years, and my best car to date was my ST200. I need a diesel car for commuting (or a car on LPG) . I have been looking at Mazda 6's (due to price) and was wondering if they are a reliable car? Just to put it into context, the Mondeo has been mine for less than 6 months and has already eaten every penny of my savings. -
Toyota carina e - question? 31 May 2007 (Forum)
Hi everyone I own a toyota carina e, and have LPG installed. My question is: I have had installed the flash lube system, of which details can be found at http://www.flashlube.com.au/valvesaverkit/index.html When an engine normally runs, what flows where the lubricant is allowed in (between the butterfly valve and inlet manifold).
